'HISPANIOLA' EPIC TV SERIES
Marco Polo's writer John Fusco is set to produce another epic saga for TV! He will turn Hans Koning's novel Columbus: His Enterprise: Exploding the Myth into an epic series titled HISPANIOLA! Cavalry Media has envisioned it as a premium drama about unchecked power and the madness and brilliance bred by its pursuit. Based on Koning’s 1991 book, it will tell the brutal true story of Christopher Columbus and the first Wild West frontier, the tropical Caribbean island of Hispaniola that now encompasses the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Hispaniola is the site of the first permanent European settlement in the Americas, founded by Columbus on his voyages in 1492 and 1493.
'ROCKETMAN' TRAILER
TARON EGERTON IS ELTON JOHN
First full trailer and a poster arrive from United Kingdom for Elton John's ROCKETMAN, a movie inspired by his life. Taron Egerton (who actually
sings all Elton's songs in the movie) plays Elton himself, with Jamie Bell playing Elton's long time composer Bernie Taupin, our dear Richard Madden as Elton's manager and lover John Reid and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton's mother Sheila Farebrother. Charlie Rowe, Steven Mackintosh, Tate Donovan also star. The movie is not a classic biopic like Bohemian Rhapsody was, but a fantasy musical in which Elton's most famous songs were used to express important beats in his life at emotional moments describing how he went from a shy small town pianist to world's biggest pop superstar.
Rocketman will fly from May 31st! |
"Rocketman" looks great! I love Elton John!
ReplyDeletehe really did play a lot in his life, we envy the bastard!
DeleteMost famous people in history (Columbus included)were both mad and brilliant. I don't care if he or the viking Ericsson discovered America; colonial genocide it was all the way.
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture (of the explorer Columbus?!).
it's him, but I had to cut it a bit to fit the width of the post, and yes he burns in hell for genocide!
DeleteBohemian Rhapsody did really well here in the States, but I think Rocketman is going to be even bigger. They definitely don't make them like the classics anymore. Elton John has stood the test of time for good reason. Pure talent, unlike these mass produced auto tune poptarts that are crammed down our throats nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure Rocketman will be bigger, as Queen is a rock band and thus has much more fans among the youngsters as well. I don't think milennials appreciate Elton so much. Sadly. But Taron needs a hit since Robin Hood was one of the biggest flops of our times :)
DeleteOMG! I might just love Rocketman!
ReplyDeletewe'll positively adore it!
DeleteThe only purpose of Hispaniola is to promote hate against the Spanish culture in the World as usual . This story is not real but the hate propaganda will stay. We can not judge cultures with today´s human rights awareness. You should instead explain to the world why English conquistadores did never leave anyone alive, nor cathedrals, nor universities , nor the first rights for the natives in the world but a total killing of both native people and cultures. Look into your own history to make massive killing movies.
ReplyDeleteall cultures have massive killings, which does not mean we should forget each of them, no? Brits have killed probably millions around the world colonising the planet with their brutal boot. But the Spaniards did that as well, just as the Americans are doing it right now in many different places around the world. Art is here to criticise and expose all of those vile deeds no matter who committed them. I personally have friends among Native Americans who are disgusted with the fact that the Columbus day is still celebrated in USA even though he brought only death do them.
