Since Brendan Fraser is not returning to "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (due to schedule problems), the sequel to this adventure blockbuster from a few years ago, entitled "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island", will have Dwayne Johnson as the lead star beside young Josh Hutcherson. As "MovieWeb" reports, Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role as burgeoning explorer Sean Anderson, who is forced to bring his mom on a trip to a mythical and monstrous island to find his missing grandfather, while Dwayne will play his mom's boyfriend. The sequel is based on Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island".
It seems that new "Conan" will offer more than just action, muscles and sword battles according to the new set photos which reveal young Jason Momoa surrounded by a bunch of scantily clad girls who are obviously trying real hard to entertain him in something that looks like a barbaric orgy :) Directed by Marcus Nispel and starring Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan and Ron Perlman, new "Conan" comes to cinemas next year.
never seen the journey to the center of the earth.
ReplyDeleteyeah... i think i'm going to be skipping conan.
You didn't miss much, Vics, but you can watch it with kids (THE JOURNEY not CONAN off course :)) since it was a family movie.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a party!
ReplyDeleteI did not care for Journey of the Center of the Earth, but I think the kids liked it well enough.
I want that kind of party but in a much modern and less barbaric way :))
ReplyDeleteHi DEZMOND - So I voted again. Yay!! LOL. My kids liked the first Journey even though I found it to be kind of slow. Dwayne is funny. I like him. We'll see. Conan - eeek!!! That's all I have to say about that.
ReplyDeleteThe new Conan looks like it was heavily influenced by the ill-fated Conan-inspiring MMO that was released last year or the year before.
ReplyDelete(I don't remember the exact dates)
Saw those photos on Blastr last night - has the same feel as the original. Conan's gonna rock!
ReplyDeleteDid you say barbaric orgy? One which day does it open?
ReplyDeleteJourney to the Center of the Earth was mildly interesting, and decent enough looking. I hope this sequel is much more fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wouldn't say that setting in Conan looks like a barbaric orgy. :) More like a non-formal dinner party, or a wild night out clubbing at worst. :) Night out, but outdoors, Hyperborean style. :)
It actually looks pretty believable and realistic.
@Avalon
ReplyDeletekids like that movie
@Jaccsy
you don't like it barbaric, JAccsy? :))
@Shells
we like Dwayne as well :)))
@MJ
what's MMO?
@Alex
ReplyDeleteand they also said it will generally be quite like the original one
@Missed Periods
ah, sister, we shall have to wait till next year until the barbarians wake up from their slumber
@Bels
hyperborean style, oh Bels, where do you find the words and terms :)))))
I don't seem to remember the first go around for Mysterious Island. I sure don't keep up with movies like I used to. Seems like I still catching up with movies from the 90s and watching old classics.
ReplyDeleteLee
Tossing It Out
yeah, i might have to see that conan film.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen or heard of either but they both look good.
ReplyDeleteCD
@Arlee
ReplyDeletethe first one was JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH :)
@Ed
now you have a reason for it :)
@Clarissa
well, you couldn't have seen them, Clarissa, since I write about upcoming films :)
Is there anything Dwayne Johnson can't do? (Besides act?)
ReplyDeleteEver since Dwayne changed his name back from The Rock, he's been doing only kids movies.
ReplyDeleteA new conan movie? interesting...
I'm so stoked that Jason Momoa got the role for Conan, I'm a huge fan of him on Stargate, so it was good to see him get some recognition. And those set photos look...interesting to say the least.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Jason Momoa was the star of Conan! That's awesome. I loved when he joined Atlantis and he's easy on the eyes. :D
ReplyDeleteI'd go see "Journey" with Dwayne. He puts on a good show. I'd love to see Conan too. Jason looks the part and doesn't have an Austrian accent! LOL!
ReplyDelete@Cheeseboy
ReplyDeletewell you can't have it all, can you? :)
@Lynda
the man has family values :)
@Brian
yes, interesting is the appropriate word :)
@Hannah
yes, we had at least five or six previous posts on Momoa being Conan :)
@Tom
yes, not having the accent is a big plus!
In 20 or 30 years will this guy be the governor of California?
ReplyDeleteyes, and Will Smith will be fighting at the presidential polls with Angelina Jolie :)
