FIRST IMAGES FROM FOUR MOVIE EXPERIENCE

It will be one of the most star studded movie projects ever and we have the first images to prove it: THE BEATLES A Four Film Cinema Experience will see Paul Mescal starring as Paul McCartney. Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. It will be a long wait, though, because the four films directed by Sam Mendes, each from the perspective of a different Beatle, are set to be released on the same day - 7th April 2028. The stellar cast also includes Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Harry Lloyd as George Martin and David Morrissey as Jim McCartney. Leanne Best will play Mimi Smith, Bobby Schofield will play Neil Aspinall, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill will play Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill will play Derek Taylor and Adam Pally will play Allen Klein. Each of the four movies will tell the story of one of the famous music group members and will be, strangely enough, released at the same time. Who do you think will be most popular?

Two new adaptations for you today, starting with Erich Maria Remarque's legendary classic ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT which will be turned into a German language film directed by Edward Berger with Daniel Bruhl in the ensemble cast.

One of the most famous German novels of all time follows three youngsters who voluntarily enlist in the German army during WW1. Full of excitement and patriotic fervour, the boys enthusiastically march into a war they believe in. But once on the Western Front, they discover the soul destroying horror of war. Their preconceptions about the enemy and the rights and wrongs of the conflict crumble. On the countdown to Armistice, the novel’s protagonist must carry on fighting until the end, with no purpose other than to satisfy the top brass’s desire to end the war on a German offensive.

Sam Mendes will only produce the adaptation

Meanwhile, Sam Mendes who is currently scoring all kinds of awards with his own WW1 movie 1917 has chosen Jess Walter's book BEAUTIFUL RUINS as his next production,  but he will not direct it himself. As 'Deadline' reports, the book is set in an Italian seaside village off the Ligurian Sea in 1962. There a charming young man runs a hotel with no guests, until one day an American starlet, fresh from the set of Cleopatra, appears and captures his heart. Five decades later in Hollywood, a jaded assistant to a powerhouse producer gets caught up in the magic of his story, and takes it upon herself to find a happy ending.
