QUEEN ANNE'S COURT AS 'THE FAVOURITE' OF THE MONARCH

Although only a brief time ago I've reported that Kate Winslet will star in Yorgos Lanthimos period set drama THE FAVOURITE, it seems that after she accepted the role in WW2 movie THE LIVES OF LEE MILLER, her role might go to Rachel Weisz who already worked with the director on THE LOBSTER. She would play countess Sarah, THE FAVOURITE confidante of Olivia Colman's Queen Anne while Emma Stone would be an impoverished, distant relative of Sarah, who gains a position at court tending to the Queen! Weisz already has another period set movie MY COUSIN RACHEL among her future projects.

THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE  
The movie follows the political machinations and the fight for influence at the court, behind the scenes during the reign of Queen Anne, the last monarch of the House of Stuarts, taking place between the end of the 17th century and first years of the 18th century!

 CAESAR NOVELS TO BE ADAPTED

Two book adaptations today, starting with the news coming from 'Deadline' on Conn Iggulden's famous EMPEROR novels being bought by Summit Entertainment for big screen adaptation as a trilogy about the rise of Julius Caesar and his best friend and eventual mortal enemy Marcus Brutus. EMPEROR will be based on Iggulden's 'The Gates Of Rome' and 'The Field Of Swords' — that establish the relationship between Caesar and Marcus from boyhood. The books cover their rise to the top of the Roman Empire, and the political and romantic entanglements that culminate in the Roman Senate. The final novel covers the revenge taken on Caesar’s murderers by Octavius and Mark Antony. In the first film, Julius and Marcus bond at boyhood and grow into warriors who become politically ambitious and powerful enough to be regarded as threats by the establishment.

'EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING'

The second one is coming from my publisher who just nabbed the rights for my country and MGM who will turn Nicola Yoon's EVERYTHING EVERYTHING hit YA novel into a movie written by J. Mills Goodloe who earlier this year wrote brilliant AGE OF ADALINE! The book which is out next week and has already been sold in 21 countries, follows Maddy, a teen who has severe combined immunodeficiency, a rare disease that causes her to be allergic to practically everything. She’s spent 17 years hiding out in her home, only seeing her mother and her nurse, Carla. But when a boy named Olly moves in next door, Maddy begins to fall in love. The story is told through vignettes, diary entries, texts, charts, lists, illustrations...

Diane Keaton and John Goodman are the parents. Olivia Wilde's Eleanor has been having trouble finding the right guy, so she coerces a soldier (Jake Lacy) to pretend to be her boyfriend for just one night. Her sister Emma (Marisa Tomei) is searching for the perfect gift, although she seems to have issues with shoplifting. Here's a cast of rising stars: 'Deadline' reports that the movie adaptation of Laurent Binet's novel HHHH will star Jason Clarke, Rosamund Pike, Jack O’Connell, Jack Reynor and Mia Wasikowska! To be helmed by Cedric Jimenez Nazi drama HHHH will have the story depicting the ascension of “Reich protector” Reinhard Heydrich (Jason Clarke), who was assassinated by resistance paratroopers (Jack O’Connell) and (Jack Reynor) to become the highest ranking Nazi officer killed during World War II. Rosamund Pike will play Heydrich’s wife. 

'RICKI AND THE FLASH' TRAILER

Two comedy trailers for you today, starting with Meryl Streep as an ageing rocker in RICKI AND THE FLASH which is out this August. The original and electrifying film is loaded with live musical performances, which the actress performed herself. Meryl Streep stars as Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom. Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family. Kevin Kline and Sebastian Stan also star!

'VACATION' REMAKE TRAILER

The second comedy trailer is for the remake of the 80's classic movie VACATION this time starring Ed Helms in the lead role.  The next generation of Griswolds is at it again, and on the road for another ill-fated adventure. Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), and their two sons with a cross- country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park” Walley World. Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo and Chris Hemsworth  also star in the movie out this July.
