The movie is out in French cinemas

(Sarah Bernhardt, La Divine) a biopic on the famous actress was released in their cinemas last week, December 18th directed by Guillaume Nicloux with Sandrine Kiberlain in the lead role and Amira Casar and Lauren Lafitte in the supporting cast. 

 

THIS IS A romantic biopic about Sarah Bernhardt, the world’s first celebrity. Known as ”La Divine”, she left an indelible mark by shattering societal norms thank to her daring personality and acting performances. Paris, 1896. Sarah Bernhardt is at the height of her glory. Icon of her time and first
world star, the actress is also a lover, free and modern, who defies conventions. Meet the woman behind the legend. The film will hit most of the European market in March but is currently available in  French speaking countries.

Screen Daily has published first image from Guillaume Nicloux’s romantic biopic THE DIVINE SARAH BERNHARDT about the life of the legendary French stage actress played by Sandrine Kiberlain! She was born in 1844 and considered to be the world’s first celebrity and nicknamed “La Divine”, shattering societal norms with her audacious personality and acting performances. Laurent Laffite and Amira Casar also star in the film that will have a festival premiere in France this August and has been sold around Europe.

LILIES NOT FOR ME

There is also the first image from Will Seefried's period set drama LILIES NOT FOR ME in which Rings of Power Elrond star Robert Aramayo and Fionn O'Shea play a 1920's gay novelist and his psychiatric nurse who bond over a series of doctor-ordered 'dates' as he tells the story of a friendship which spiraled out of control when they turned to a risky procedure to cure themselves of feelings for each other. Our dearest Louis Hofmann also stars in the film that will premiere next month at Edinburgh Film Festival.
