FIRST HONEY TRAILER
FROM NEW BBC COLD WAR DRAMA
BBC and German ZDF have teamed up on a new dark comedy six part drama HONEY which will star our dearest Jannis Niewohner alongside Ann Skelly, Nate Mann and Rory Kinnear. The tender and flirty, slick
and dangerous series goes deep undercover in 1980s East Berlin to explore a shadowy world of counter espionage and risky but irresistible relations. East
Berlin, 1982. Martha, 24, is a deep cover agent for MI6. Surrounded by enemies and constantly under threat of her cover being blown, she tries her
hardest to avoid detection by Friedrich, the new Stasi Head of Counterespionage against British Targets, Berlin Office. Finding herself
caught between Friedrich and the reckless, arrogant (and incredibly attractive…) CIA operative Aaron Neeland (posing as Kurt Fischer), she is blind-sided by desire in this Cold War menage-a-trois. The risk of being
garrotted or incarcerated is nothing compared to the horrifying ordeal of falling in love. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable and bearing your heart and soul? She'd rather have her fingernails pulled out. Check out the trailer below for the drama which starts November 14th!

Love spy stories in the Cold War, and Jannis in it is a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI would watch it for my sweetest Jannis, but it does not really look interesting to me at all. It will be another flop from BBC in their walk to being closed down.
DeleteFrom the makers of Killing Eve has me leaning towards no on this one. I know that was a popular series, but I got through one episode and said no more.
ReplyDeleteI did not watch it either.
DeleteUn intreccio intrigante di spionaggio, passioni pericolose e ironia, sullo sfondo di una Berlino divisa dove fidarsi può diventare il rischio più grande.
ReplyDeleteBuona domenica
Buona domenica, Silvia
DeleteCold War spies, East Berlin and a love triangle: by the second episode I would need a notebook to remember who is lying to whom. The historical setting attracts me, and the mixture of espionage and dark comedy could work very well if they do not turn the triangle into the whole story. At least with spies you know from the start that nobody is telling the truth. An undercover hug.
ReplyDeleteI might watch it only for my German husband Jannis Niewohner whom I adore and them some more!
