ZERO HOUR SF SERIES
ORDERED OVER AT PARAMOUNT PLUS
Paramount + has ordered new sf thriller series from Matthew Michael Carnahan based on a short story by Harrison Query. In ZERO HOUR, when mysterious ovals appear in the sky, the world changes forever. In the minutes that follow, a wife fights to keep her ailing husband alive, a doomsday prepper races to get his family to safety, teenage runaways are
caught in the middle of a bank robbery, and a brilliant young presidential aide scrambles to make sense of it all. What begins as a pulse-pounding survival story slowly unravels into a sweeping mystery, as the truth about who these visitors are, and why they have come, upends everything humanity thought it knew about first contact.

mysterious ovals? Looks more like a round to me..
ReplyDeleteGeez Louise, that is just the closest illustration I have managed to find, there were no art materials for the series itself as it has not even started filming.
DeleteYou know science fiction is not usually my thing, and this time I cannot even tell whether those visitors are aliens or something even stranger. I will need a trailer before I decide. For now, I am staying on Earth. An earthly hug
ReplyDeleteDoes sf bother you because you are a religious person, or you just find it boring? Returning the hug.
DeleteHaha, that question did surprise me! I don’t quite see what religion has to do with science fiction. It isn’t that I dislike the genre. I watched so much of it when I was young that I ended up rather saturated, so these days it doesn’t usually tempt me. But that doesn’t mean I never watch it. I recently had a wonderful time at the cinema with my son watching Project Hail Mary, which I loved.
DeleteAnd since you have brought up religion, I think I might challenge some of the ideas you have about it. I don’t live my faith in the way religion is often presented. For me, it is a personal experience of love. Fanaticism and judgement repel me. It took me years, and a few experiences along the way, to understand it like that.
But that is a conversation for another day and another post. This one is yours, not mine.
A big hug to last you all weekend.
Well, because sf is all about different planets, species, aliens, while religions teaches you that all is god created. It is opposite of what the Bible would tell us. Returning the hug.
DeleteMaybe it’s a portal that those of us who are sick of this planet can get sucked into and transported somewhere far, far away.
ReplyDeleteWith our luck, that place would be even worse.
