DAISY RIDLEY TO LEAD
VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA SERIES

| Daisy Ridley will lead the series |
As Deadline reports,
Paramount + has set
Daisy Ridley as lead of their new small screen adaptation of
THE VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA set to be produced by
Akiva Goldsman and
Matt Shakman. The modern reimagination will follow brilliant ocean scientist Lee Crane (Ridley), who is pulled into a classified government program after a catastrophic Arctic expedition claims the life of her twin sister. At the center of the program is the USS Seaview, a retro-futuristic submarine found entombed in the ice, marked with symbols from a history that shouldn’t exist, and it powers up only when Lee steps aboard. Thrust into command of a pressure-cooker crew and an uneasy alliance with government power brokers, Lee leads Seaview on daring undersea missions to contain mysterious forces leaking into our world, all while uncovering a hidden truth about the oceans, an erased chapter of human history, and the once-thought mythical city of Atlantis.
Sounds like a power woman...and the actress does have that determined look.
ReplyDeleteShe is a bit butch and has played warriors before.
DeleteA submarine that only powers up when one particular person steps aboard is a handy way to make sure the lead can’t be replaced. And a sub frozen in the ice with symbols from a history that shouldn’t exist is a good hook.

Should be a super fun adventure Jules Verne style!
DeleteThat submarine buried in the Arctic ice caught my attention immediately, and bringing Atlantis into the mystery makes it even more tempting. I can picture Daisy Ridley leading this kind of adventure. I only hope they do not stretch the secrets for three seasons before telling us what is really going on. A big underwater hug, but close the hatch first.
ReplyDeleteWe do ever so love Arctic set anything! And not to mention Atlantis!
DeleteReturning the wet hug!
Un’avventura che intreccia mistero, fantascienza e segreti sommersi, promettendo di riportare sullo schermo il fascino inesauribile degli abissi e del mito di Atlantide.
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata
Atlantide is so intriguing!
DeleteDezmond confesso que fiquei curiosa pela série, desejo uma ótima quinta-feira pra você bjs.
ReplyDeleteMi curioso as well!
DeleteThis one could be fun. I do like the premise.
ReplyDeleteAgreed
DeleteIdk how I feel about this one. It doesn't sound awful to me, but one that's more your cuppa tea than mine.
ReplyDeleteI do like adventure show, hope she gets a nice hunk in the crew for our eyes.
DeleteThis is hilarious. The original Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, I mean the 1960s tv series had no women, it took place inside the Seaview, a nuclear submarine, and Captain Lee Crane was male, played by David Hedison (Jodie Foster's father in law) and I , only eight years old, fell intensly in love with him. And now, he is a woman. Ok, hope it's good.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is not a direct adaptation, just something loosely inspired by it, and of course that it will now be a woman, we live in a misandrist age. You know, all men are evil, wicked and vile and should be banished from the face of the Earth starting from the small screens....
