MONTMARTRE COSTUME DRAMA
FIRST TRAILER WITH HUGO BECKER
An eight part costume drama set against the backdrop of the cabaret scene in the MONTMARTRE Parisian
neighborhood is arriving to the French small screens soon and TV France 1 has released the first trailer. Set at the
turn of the 19th century,
the historical drama will tell the intertwining stories of a trio of
characters. Céleste (Alice Dufour), is a determined Cancan dancer who is desperate to fund a search for her long-lost siblings.
Arsène (Victor Meutelet) is a wealthy young engineer, who breaks off an arranged marriage to embrace his hidden love for men. Meanwhile, Rose (Claire Romain), works in a laundry and dreams of a simple life. Hugo
Becker (as a police inspector), Mathilde Seigner, Thibault de Montalembert and Mikaël Mittelstadt will also star for TV France 1. If I understood correctly the series will also stream on Disney Plus in France.

The only French cabaret film I have ever watched is Liza Minnelli's Life is a Cabaret...
ReplyDeleteI have never watched that one, cannot stand Minnelli.
DeleteWell, Gattocito, then you missed one of the greatest musicals ever (and one with a political statement) About Montmarte it reeks of Maison Close and The Mysteries of Paris. I didn't like any of them.
DeleteYes, it looked strangely modern to me, as if it is not a period set piece. Plus, unlike their actors, most of French actresses annoy the hell out of me. Still, we will give it a go if ever we come upon it somewhere. Did you watch Fortunes of France on Prime VIdeo?
DeleteI think this is something me and my husband will enjoy watching. Excited!
ReplyDeleteHope you will manage to catch it somewhere.
DeleteQuem aprecia cabaré vai gostar eu particularmente não sou muito chegada em cabaré, Dezmond boa terça-feira abraços.
ReplyDeleteLots of colourful dresses and fashion in it.
DeleteMaybe we’ll get it on our Disney Plus eventually. I’d watch this if I can find it.
ReplyDeleteOr on Shitflix.
