Although it will not get into cinemas before November, we have the first trailer for RENTAL FAMILY comedy drama which sees Brendan Fraser in his first big role after the Oscar winning performance in The Whale three years ago. In the new film he plays as a lonely, down-and-out American actor living in Tokyo who begins working for a Japanese “rental family” company to play various stand-in roles in other people’s lives. Along the way, he forges some surprising human connections and discovers unexpected joys within his built-in family. The film will first premiere at Toronto Film Festival next month. The movie was helmed by Japanese film maker Hikari who is also producing it. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think, will you be watching this November?
I wasn't able to view the trailer, but it sounds like an interesting film. An American experiencing life in Toyko would probably have a lot to get used to.
