STELLA. A LIFE POSTER
WITH JANNIS NIEWOHNER
We have our favourite German boy opening Monday for us: first poster for period set movie STELLA. A LIFE which should arrive this November. It tells the story of a young woman who dreams of a bright career as a
swing singer on Broadway and longs for happiness and recognition. But Stella is Jewish and lives in Nazi Berlin. After she has to go into hiding with her parents, she joins a forger group to save her life and that of her parents. When the National Socialists arrest her, her life changes from that of a victim to that of a perpetrator. The feature film is inspired by the true life story of Stella Goldschlag and was staged by the multi-award-winning director Kilian Riedhof! In addition to Paula Beer as Stella Goldschlag, the top-class cast also includes our dearest boy Jannis Niewöhner, and another of our favourite German boys Damian Hardung, whom we have not seen since Name of the Rose series.
The film will arrive this November |
HAGEN EPIC SERIES
Just to remind you that we will be also watching Jannis Niewohner in HAGEN epic TV series which is currently in post production at German RTL +
streamer. That one will be set in the land of Nibelung and Valkyrie
myths and we can probably expect it sometime this Autumn or Winter.
With drama and music, this could be an interesting one. Don't recognize any of those German actors though.
ReplyDeleteOy, Angie, Jannis is literally your biggest actor!
DeleteWow, Your Damien and Little Jannis playing Jews, that is something to watch. Jokes aside, I've been fascinated, frightened and repelled by Stella's story ever since I heard of her. Making a movie about her can be a double-edged sword, but it's a story that deserves to be told. Cate Blanchett's character in The Good German is based on Stella.
ReplyDeleteI think I watched almost everything Jannis was in! I wish they have chosen the other name for the film as it was originally meant to be THE LAST SONG FOR STELLA.
DeleteI feel like I've been passing on a lot lately, but Stella is one I'll want to see. While Jason is always into anything about Nazi Germany and the war, I find the personal stories more fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI usually stay away from war stories, but I would watch this one for my dearest Jannis.
