'SAVAGE STATE' TRAILER
A FEMALE FRENCH WESTERN
Another French movie for you this week, while Hollywood is in quarantine. SAVAGE STATE is a period set thriller western directed and written by David Perrault. It aired in France in February.
When the
American Civil War breaks out, a family of French settlers must abandon their Missouri home to flee and go back to Paris. Edmond (Bruno Todeschini), the patriarch, is accompanied by his wife Madeleine (Constance Dolle), their maid Layla (Armelle Abibou) and their three daughters : Esther (Alice Isaaz), Justine (Deborah Francois) and Abigaelle (Maryne Bertieaux). Esther, the youngest, is irresistibly attracted to Victor (Kevin Janssens), a former mercenary who's escorting them. This relationship soon acts like a poison within the group of travellers, especially when Victor's past is catching up with him.
The movie played in French cinemas back in February |
I don't blame her, he's a very attractive manly, man!! Would Missouri be considered North, South, or neutral? I'm off to Google..
ReplyDeleteHe'd certainly make the journey much more pleasant even in the middle of war :)
DeleteLooks far-fetched to me.
ReplyDeleteI think some of the actors in it are Canadian.
DeleteI'd probably follow him into hell too. He is quite a looker :)
ReplyDeleteHot were the early cowboys and desperados it seems.
DeleteI love french films but I haven't seen any french western movie before.
