'UMBRELLA ACADEMY'
FIRST TRAILER IS HERE!
Netflix has released a trailer for their new fantasy series THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY which will roll out February 15th based on the Dark Horse comic
books. It stars Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan and Ellen Page.
Academy opens its doors next February |
On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to
random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day
before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire
industrialist, who creates THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY and prepares his
“children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan.
In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded.
Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of
Hargreeves’ passing. They have to work together to solve a mystery
surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again
begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities,
not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.
"The Umbrella Academy" looks great! And Ellen Page has one of those eternally youthful faces, doesn't she!
ReplyDeletecannot stand her, but I luuuuurv Tom Hopper!
DeleteI've never read anything by Salman Rushdie, only about Salman Rushdie. Lucky guy! So far he has escaped assasination by muslims following Houmeini's order after publication in the west of "SatanIC VerseS".
ReplyDeleteThey say his books are not easy to read; perhaps, adaptation to the screen will do them good, and offer the viwers a quality movie. "Midnight's Children" might be a pleasant surpise.
Yes, he hasn't had an easy life, methinks. Haven't read anything by him, myself either, but he must be doing something good if you understand what I'm saying.....
DeleteHe's just an ordinary man with fears and a desire to live. So, he has apologized to the muslims stressing the fact that he is also muslim, and asked his publisher to stop printing the Satanic Verses and certainly not translate it in other languages. Well, not a big hero, but it worked as they'd let him live.
ReplyDeletewhat a peaceful religion that is!
DeleteThank God I'm not the only one who doesn't like Ellen Page. I can' hardly stomach to watch anything she is in. She ranks up there with Kristen Stewart and Teresa Palmer in terms of unwatchable actresses for me.
ReplyDeleteI hear most people cannot stand her... and I'd ad Lena Dunham to that list and Amy Schumer too! I myself also never a watch film with Keira Knightely and Natalie Unimportant.
DeleteI have never seen anything Lena Dunham has done, but from what I see of her on the news, she's someone I would not like at all. A total nutcase it seems. I avoid Amy Schumer at all costs too. She's the biggest twat if there ever was one. I didn't know Kiera and Natalie were still making films? I haven't heard about anything they've been in in quite some time. I suppose that means they're off making even more unwatchable films that nobody cares about.
Deletetwats, that's the word for all of them! Keira currently has like five films or something. And Natalie's current film is the star of the critical ridicule :)
DeleteNetflix is back with all those wonderful series! I read Rusdi’s book and intrigued to see the movie
ReplyDeletehope you will like the adaptation!
DeleteWow. Both of those are intriguing.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear it!
