BBC has released a trailer for the first of the three TV movies based on THE FAMOUS FIVE classic by Enid Blyton. The first movie will air on CBBC December 9th and also on Stan in Australia, and on BBC One around New Year's Eve. The story follows five daring young explorers as they encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger and astounding secrets. It will also air on ZDF in Germany.

Joining the five are Jack Gleeson as Wentworth, Ann Akinjirin as Fanny, James Lance as Quentin and Diana Quick as Mrs Wentworth.

Pathe has released the first trailer and poster for their upcoming movie drama THE GREAT ESCAPER with Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson in the last role of her life. Kane plays a veteran of the D-Day Landings seeks closure in the upcoming drama feature.

care home in order to go back to Normandy, where 70 years earlier he had
bravely stormed the beaches as part of the D-Day Landings. Glenda
Jackson plays his loving wife Rene who completely understood the closure
he required, but was not well enough to accompany him personally. The
two of them starred together in another movie but more than fifty years
earlier! Directed by Oliver Parker it should hit British cinemas October
6th!

Nicholas Winding Refn will be the producer and creator of the series that has the story revolving around five daring young explorers as they encounter action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger, and astounding secrets, in an unforgettable odyssey that evokes the power of camaraderie between the fearless young heroes. Moonage Pictures, that made Obsession for Netflix, is working on this one. They say that this will be a modern, timely and irreverent action series with adventure at its heart. The production has already begun so we might get cast info soon, methinks.
