First look at the leading cast of the new series

 Caponi in the cast. It is set in 2047 where a major ecological crisis has spawned FedSur, a coalition of South American countries that imposes draconian measures to safeguard the environment and combat widespread

It will be based on The World Jones Made book

 hunger and violence. Out of this chaos, a new voice emerges on the web that claims he is capable of predicting the future. Police officer Hugo Crussi (Vogrincic) traces the voice to a young preacher, Jonas Flores (Zurita), and arrests him. But that only makes Flores even more powerful as he becomes a spiritual leader of the region overnight. Foreseeing FedSur’s fall and the region’s triumph over climate change, Jonás inspires millions of Latinos to join his reactionary revolution, while Crussí, hunted by the regime, undertakes a doomed mission to kill the religious tyrant who foresees his intent.

Well, you know how much I love a good apocalyptic series and Netflix is giving us one next week so if you love a good action thriller set in an isolated or ravaged world mark your calendars for next weekend: based on the eponymous graphic novel by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López, the six episode live-action adaptation THE ETERNAUT arrives to Netflix April 30th as their new original series from Argentina with their star Ricardo Darin leading the cast.

 

  WHAT IS THE STORY OF ETERNAUT

 When a rare snow begins falling in Buenos Aires, it kills everything it touches in an instant leading to millions of deaths. Is it nuclear war or something even more sinister? Those that survive suit up in gas masks and layers to stave off death and fight an increasingly violent unseen force that’s trailing their every move. One of the survivors, a man named Juan Salvo (Ricardo Darin), emerges as the leader of the resistance against an imperceivable threat. And he’s determined to fight back against this invisible force.
