BBC One has released first trailer for a new six part crime drama THE CAGE set in the world of a Liverpool Casino with Sheridan Smith and Michael Socha in the lead roles. When Leanne (Smith) and Matty (Socha) discover they are both robbing from the safe at the inner- city casino they work in, their
lives are set on a collision course; with each other, the local gangster
they’re stealing from, and the police. The show is created by Tony Schumacher. Barry Sloane, Geraldine James will also star. It will air from April 26th Sunday night.

It is already obvious that this month is going to bring us quite a lot of new historical series to the small screens and Nat Geo isn't an exception since they're finally releasing their ambitious 17th century four hour epic mini series SAINTS &STRANGERS, the story of the voyage of the Mayflower and the first year of the Pilgrims in America, to TV on Sunday November 22nd in a two night event! With Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer scoring the main title theme music, the stellar cast is lead by Vincent Kartheiser, Ron Livingston, Barry Sloane, Ray Stevenson, Natascha McElhone, Chris Fisher and Tatanka Means.
SAINTS & STRANGERS STORY
goes beyond the familiar
historical account of Thanksgiving and the founding of Plymouth
Plantation, revealing the trials and tribulations of the settlers at
Plymouth: 102 men, women and children who sailed on a chartered ship for
a place they had never seen. Of this group, half are those we think of
as “pilgrims,” religious separatists who abandoned their prior lives for
a single cause: religious freedom. The other half, the "merchant
adventurers," had less spiritual and more material, real-world
objectives. This clash of values created complex inner struggles for the
group as they sought to establish a new colony, compounded by a
complicated relationship with the local Native American tribes. The
conflicting allegiances among these groups culminated in trials of
assimilation, faith, and compromise, that continued to define the violent nation
to this day.

The cast has been revealed for National Geographic's new historical mini series SAINTS & STRANGERS about the Mayflower's crossing of the Atlantic. Vincent Kartheiser, Ron Livingston, Barry Sloane, Michael Jibson, Ray Stevenson, Natascha McElhone, Tatanka Means and Kalani Queypo are just some of the stars of Nat Geo's first scripted miniseries which tells the story behind the founding of America, chronicling the trials and tribulations of the 101 men, women and children who boarded the Mayflower for a one-way trip to the New World.
STAR STUDDED CAST One group seeking religious freedom, called the saints, is led by
William Bradford (Kartheiser) and his wife Dorothy (Anna Camp), with Ron Livingston as Pilgrims leader John Carver and Barry Sloane as the diplomat Edward Winslow.
A second faction, led by traveller Stephen Hopkins (Ray Stevenson), are a group of strangers seeking fortune rather than religious liberty. Hopkins's pregnant wife (Natascha McElhone) and the agitator John Billington (Brían F. O'Byrne) are among the other strangers. Means and Queypo are the Native Americans they meet in America. HBO is also preparing their own series on first American settlers - LEWIS AND CLARKE with Matthias Schoenaerts and Cassey Affleck.
