A SCANDAL THAT SHOCKED MEXICO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY IN ULTRA LAVISH PERIOD SET MOVIE DANCE OF THE 41!

 DANCE OF THE 41 TRAILER
A TURN OF THE CENTURY SCANDAL THAT SHOCKED MEXICO
We had a shocking true story movie yesterday from Italy, and today we have one equally shocking true story coming from Mexico in lavish period set
It arrives into Mexican cinemas November 19th
drama DANCE OF THE 41 (El baile de los 41) which will arrive into Mexican cinemas November 19th, but it does not have international dates yet. It is expected that it will air on Netflix next year. Emiliano Zurita and Alfonso Herrera lead the cast of the David Pablos directed movie.

DANCE OF THE 41 is based on the Ball of the Forty One which was a society scandal in early 20th century Mexico. The incident revolved around an illegal police raid carried out in November 1901 in a private home in Mexico City. The scandal revolved around the fact that of the group of men who attended, 19 were dressed in "feminine" clothing. Despite the government's efforts to hush the incident up, the press

was keen to report the incident, since the participants belonged to the upper echelons of society (including the son in law of the incumbent President of Mexico). This scandal was unique in that it was the first time homosexuality was openly spoken about in the Mexican media and had a lasting impact on Mexican culture.

DID YOU KNOW?
Although the raid was illegal and completely arbitrary, the 41 were convicted and conscripted into the army and sent to Yucatán where the Caste War was still being fought!  In Mexico, even in the next half of the 20th century, the number 41 had no validity and was offensive.

number 41; if this could not be avoided, 40Bs were used. No hotel or hospital had a room 41. Nobody celebrated their 41st birthday, going straight from 40 to 42. No vehicle was assigned a number plate with 41, and no police officer would accept a badge with that number.
