Frank Spotnitz's new historical project is slowly gathering its cast and
after they've scored Poldark's
Aidan Turner for the lead role epic TV series has now hired
Freddie Highmore as well! Following world's most famous painter ever Leonardo da Vinci, the series will portray him as a gay outsider who used his work as a way of hiding his true self. Each episode will examine one of da Vinci’s artworks for hidden clues about a tortured artist struggling for perfection.
Freddie Highmore, who is also producing, will play Stefano Giraldi, a fictional police detective who frames the narrative, investigating da Vinci as the suspect in a

murder case and digging into his past. The series will air on RAI in Italy, French public broadcaster and ZDF in Germany. No American or UK broadcasters are known yet.

DeleteSounds lovely, dear. Freddie Highmore is shaping up to be a handsome man. I remember first seeing him in Finding Neverland and thinking he definitely will make a successful career in acting.

ReplyDeleteYes, there were Da Vinci's Demons, but that show did not really cover his work, it was more of an imagination.
