Set in and around California, the film revolves around four lifelong
friends who read 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club and have
their lives changed forever. For these successful and intelligent women,
this is not the type of book they typically read, but as they soon find
out, inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places.

There's also something for the youngsters today: trying to save its viewership after cancelling its most watched programmes this year, FreeForm is preparing NEW WARRIORS series based on Marvel comics which will follow six young people who are learning to cope with
their special abilities in a world where bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.

Milana Vayntrub will play Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl.
Doreen is a totally empowered fangirl who has the incredible powers of a
… squirrel. Her greatest quality is her optimism and her best friend is
a pet squirrel, Tippy Toe.
Derek Theler is Craig Hollis aka Mister Immortal. Craig can’t die …
or so he says. Although Craig’s superpower seems amazing, he hasn’t made
use of it at all – he figures if he has all the time in the world to
learn how to do anything heroic, what’s the rush? Jeremy
Tardy plays Dwayne Taylor aka Night Thrasher. Brilliant and noble,
and maybe a bit full of himself, Dwayne is a shameless self promoter and
entrepreneur who also deeply believes in justice.
Calum Worthy will play Robbie Baldwin aka Speedball. Robbie is an
impulsive people pleaser with a misplaced sense of confidence who
throws kinetic balls of energy that are completely out of control.
Matthew Moy is Zack Smith aka Microbe. Zack is a shy
hypochondriac whose ability is that he can
talk to germs that tell him
where you’ve been, what you ate and with whom you’ve hung out. It’s
impossible to keep secrets around him.
Kate Comer will play Deborah Fields aka Debrii. Deborah is proud,
funny and quick witted. A low-level telekinetic, very low like she can
move a paper cup.

DeleteI read 50 Shades and was bored out of my mind, so it will be interesting to see how they interpreted the book. Great cast list, so we'll see if it's worth a watch when the trailers hit.

DeleteThe Marvel series have been pretty good. I watched Jessica Jones and am watching something about Team Shield. (I watched another, but I can't remember what it was called.)
ReplyDeleteI've never watched any myself, I prefer DC if I really must watch anything about superheroes, but I might check this one out!
