GERARD BUTLER
IN 'THE RAVEN' SF MOVIE
Did you notice that robotic cops are currently trendy in Tinseltown? Beside ROBOCOP remake coming soon with Joel Kinnaman and the new J.J.Abrams sf show ALMOST HUMAN with Karl Urban, we shall also see futuristic cops in THE RAVEN! Universal is apparently negotiating with Scottish hunkster Gerard Butler to take the lead role, which was previously meant for Liam Hemsworth, in this story which revolves around a man with incredible super-human talents, who is on the run from robotic cop drones in downtown Los Angeles, while a police ship hovers the skies, coordinating the chase. Wait, didn't Butler did something similar in GAME? Gerard also has HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON sequel in the future!
'THE 100' SF SHOW
APOCALYPTIC TEENS
When it comes to clips, HOLLYWOOD SPY is bringing you trailers for two new science fiction shows coming to CW this Autumn. The first one is for THE 100! Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civi- lization, the show follows a spaceship housing the lone human survivors which sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing the planet. Eliza Taylor, Eli Goree, Kelly Hu, Christopher Larkin, Isaiah Washington lead the cast!
STAR CROSSED SF SHOW
ALIEN & HUMAN LOVE STORY
The second trailer is for a more romantic type of sf show! Previously called OXYGEN and now retitled into STAR CROSSED, it will be a kind of a futuristic Romeo and Juliet with Matt Lanter and Aimee Teegarden portraying a pair of "star-crossed" lovers - one human, one alien - who go to a high school together. Ten years after aliens Atrians had crashed on Earth and warred with humans they've acclimatized themselves to Earth and now some of the young aliens are sent to a human high school to test the feasibility of their integration. The eyes of the nation and the whole world are fixed on this historical social experiment, an endeavour fraught with suspicion and fear.
I think I like the look of that second show, Star Crossed, better than the other one. Something to ponder anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt is the opposite with moi :P but I do like the trend of sf on TV. I'm only sad that there isn't any interstellar intergalactic space opera sf on TV :( SyFy's DEFIANCE has been a dreadful disappointment :( It pretty much has zero sf and tones of boring crime with horrid costumes and cheap sets.
DeleteThe 100 great ! Great trailer Dezmond .
ReplyDeleteGreetings
glad you liked it, Vincent :)
DeleteHaven't we all had those alien high school romances? I'm going through it now with my teenage son. :)
ReplyDeleteah, those sweet sweet alien romances from high school.... actually poor me didn't have one ... not even aliens would romance fat little high school me LOL
DeleteThe 100 looks Lord of the Flies-ish. It could go either way.
ReplyDeleteThe Star Cross look okay but it might be too sappy.
yep, we have to keep our fingers crossed for both of the shows
DeleteOne human, one alien? Lord, how kinky! O no.... not another high school show... O well, as long as it's kinky. Do you reckon we get to see some alien booty? ;)
ReplyDeleteI more wonder if some of the aliens will wear high boots like some of the blue aliens like to.....
DeleteHmmmmm yeah me too. Would be kinky eh?
DeleteWow! I didn't know any of that was going on. "The Raven" sounds really good. Thanks - keep us updated. :-)
ReplyDeletealways here to inform, Lexa :)
DeleteHey Dezzy, seeing you talk about the CW I was wondering if you know anything about the supposed Wonder Woman series? I would really like to see that character brought to the screen again, only with a much stronger vehicle showcasing her Amazonian history.
ReplyDeleteyep, they've just announced that AMAZON is still in plan and not ditched forever like THE SELECTION pilot, which was cancelled for the second time. The problem is that CW will make WW a teen star.
DeleteWell they've done good by Arrow, so I won't mind that if they hold true to the Amazonian legends.
DeleteI still haven't figured out if they're planning to have a contemporary setting or an ancient one, but I think it will be modern :(
DeleteI thought 100 was some scifi channel film from like ten years ago. Or maybe that was some other show.
ReplyDeletemost probably
DeleteYou know it occurs to me that teenagers are getting an awful lot of responsibility for saving the human race, when they can't even be responsible for themselves. Re-colonizing Earth by using delinquents?! WTF?!! Star-crossed alien and human teen romance, yikes...He doesn't look that alien to me, just some face paint.
ReplyDeleteyou think Earth deserves better? :PP Wasn't Australia started the same way? With whores and criminals :)
DeleteGerard Butler did well in that movie about the North Koreans attacking the White House. Can't remember what it's called right now though.
ReplyDeleteOLYMPUS DOWN or something like that :)
Deletei am never watching television again until they bring something on that doesn't have a "c" or "w" in the network. i don't think that makes sense. i am not sure.
ReplyDeleteLOL, well I did cover SyFy's, Fox's and NBC new series already, gotta cover CW's too :)
DeleteGerard has super human talents already:)
ReplyDeleteSo I hear :)
DeleteI'll reserve judgement on those new scifi shows until I actually see them.
ReplyDeleteI am however looking forward to the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON sequel :)
DRAGON will be such fun. HicUp will probably be older and his dragon bigger.
DeleteWhat is with people are trying to recolonize a destroyed Earth? Isn't Will Smith doing a movie with that soon?
ReplyDeletethey probably think the radiation will give them nice tan :)
DeleteYour reply button isn't working darling. I was going to say something about that lovely pic you gave me of Gerard. Me still loves that one:)
ReplyDeletethat happens sometimes, dear, thanks to Blogger :) U usually just have to open and close the post a few times before the reply works again.
DeleteThe naked one? :)
did you ever open the naughty wallpaper with MERLIN knights I've sent you in messages at Facebook? :)
DeleteAmazing all the shows I miss not having TV. But, honestly, I'm okay with that. Love the NetFlix and YouTube.
