ORLANDO BLOOM OFFICIALLY IN "THE THREE MUSKETEERS"
So it's official, Orlando Bloom has signed on to portray the Duke of Buckingham, the arch-nemesis to the Musketeers, in the upcoming 3D adventure "The Three Musketeers". This confirms that he just can't stay away from swords and period costumes, so after "Kingdom of Heaven", "Lord of the Rings" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" (which he left this year) he will wield a blade again in Paul W.S. Anderson’s new remake of the classic story. As you remember, Anderson said that he will bring a new look into the old tale: We are definitely modernizing "The Three Musketeers" without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece. But in our film, corsets and feathered hats don’t take center stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure.

I was just thinking I hadn't seen Bloom in a movie in a long time...
ReplyDeleteyep, some of the young stars have gone curiously missing - Orlando, Kirsten Dunst, Tobey Maguire ...
ReplyDeleteOrland Bloom, was born to be a Musketeer. Perfect casting.
ReplyDeleteoooh i hope it's good. I have such a deep love for the Musketeers
ReplyDelete@Wendy
ReplyDeleteyou mean he was born with those Musketeer mustaches??? :)))
@Falen
which one? All of them? :)
I was telling Castor the other day that I wish someone else had been cast instead... like Rupert Friend maybe? I've only liked Bloom in Lord of the Rings and he's just terrible in Troy. But who knows, maybe he's not such a bad choice here as he isn't the lead. Glad he's not playing D'Artagnan, as Gabriel Byrne will always be my fave in that role.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Orlando is perfect for the cast. He is talented and beautiful, he fits period films well.
ReplyDeleteThere's entirely too much eye candy going on on this page. I about had a heart attack.
ReplyDeleteBut oooooh, I do love me some Musketeers and Orlando Bloom. Good. To. Know. ;)
@Avalon
ReplyDelete"He is talented and beautiful?" You are joking, right?:) He's neither a good actor, nor a beautiful man! What exactly do you find attractive in his look? His thin lips or his tiny little eyes? :)
He's so stiff and wooden when he acts, it's laughable!
@RTM
ReplyDeleteoh, yes, TROY was a parade of terrible acting. The only stunning performances in that epic were the ones from Eric Bana and Suffron Burrows, they really had profound roles, while Diane Kruger, Orly and Brad were stunningly horrible as usual.
@Avalon and Neb
now, don't be naughty, Neb, Orly isn't gorgeous according to some general rules, but I guess girls find him attractive for the same reasons they find Johnny Depp attractive - something mysterious in his rugged looks. When it comes to acting, I do agree Orly had poor performances so far.
@Palindrome
don't tell me you don't like sweets and candy :))
I could definitely see Bloom in a Three Musketeers movie. He has that "look".
ReplyDeleteHe's not playing D'artagnan? That's the role I would expect him to take... he's not aging yet! But this will be interesting to see him as a villain. He has been sort of quiet after Pirates and LOTR. Thanks for sharing the news!
ReplyDeleteKelly, he really does :)
ReplyDeleteNo, Julie, D'artagnan will be played by young Logan Lerman :)
it’ll be good to see Bloom stretch himself by playing a villain. It’s about time he stretched his acting legs into different territory.
ReplyDeleteNebular, every one is different and everyone has opinions. I simply stated mine.
ReplyDeleteDezmond, you know me better then that...I am never naughty or rude.
Avalon, I sad that about my dear but naughty Nebster, not about you :) He was the one who deserved some spanking :) and I know he's anxiously waiting to get some from me :)
ReplyDelete@Avalon
ReplyDeleteYou're never rude? Neither am I. I'm just honest and outspoken. Don't take it too personal, Avalon. I got mad, because your comment sounded to me like "Oh, he's talented and beautiful, because he's FAMOUS!"
You guys are brainwashed :) You read in papers he's beautiful; you hear on TV someone's saying he's beautiful; you read in internet he's beautiful... and that's enough to make your brain washed and make you think he really is beautiful. Well, surprise... he actually isn't. :)
@Dezmond
Dezz, buddy, I confess that I was rude and said all that just to get some spanking from you :)
OK, than there shall be some serious spanking :) Prepare to get spanked!
ReplyDeletePS, I'm with Avalon, I also think Orlando is rather attractive, although I don't really like his acting :) I'd think the same even if he was some ordinary guy walking in the street and not a star smiling from a magazine cover.
