In THE ROAD Vigo Mortensen plays a father who transports his little son to safety after a huge nuclear explosion had destroyed the world and battles starving stragglers and marauding packs of cannibals in his way. Beside Vigo, the amazing cast also includes Charlize Theron, Robert Duvall and Guy Pearce.
As much as I like Viggo and Theron, I am still kind of on the fence with this one. It is one of those movies that could turn out really good or really bad.

ReplyDeleteIf it only had more action like Mad Max or Doomsday recently. Post-apocalyptic survival action I like, post-app. survival dramas not so much.
I'm not obsessed with zombie/cannibal/apocalyptic thrillers either but I liked the unusual suspense in this trailer, so I'll give it a go, especially since it's really rare to see such actors in such genre.
ReplyDeleteIt would've been rare to see such actors in this genre... ...if this was a zombie/apocalyptic thriller. :) But this is a classic survival drama/thriller (in its form). The only thing it has in common with apocalyptic genre are near future and "end of the world" premise. Even so, its core setting and story progress are most easily associated with survival drama/thriller.

ReplyDeletepa kako nije apokalipticni zanr kada se desava odmah nakon sto je svet doziveo propast, i ovaj pokusava da prezivi i spase sina svoga. I pri tom ih jure neke gadne zombicanstvene bande :)))
ReplyDeleteJe l' MIST bila ono sa Tomasom Dzejnom, u onoj posluzi? Tamo su DEAD CAN DANCE imali fenomenalnu pesmu u odjavnoj spici "The Host of Seraphim" :)
