STAR SAILORS
PERIOD SET TV SERIES FROM PORTUGAL
It already aired last year in its home country, but Portuguese period set six part mini TV series STAR SAILORS (A Travessia) will
also get international distribution thanks to Onza Distribution from Spain. The story of the series covers the fearless race of the 1920's Portuguese aviation pioneers to cross the South Atlantic Ocean through aerial navigation, which became an epic story of the modern age argonauts. In order to reach the stars - sailing is necessary - navigandum est. It is about the audacious bid by Portuguese Navy officers Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho to cross the widest stretch of the South Atlantic in the early 20th century, when flight remained experimental, navigation was fragile and the ocean still defined the limits of modern travel.

It's amazing how far aviation has advanced...though quite risky these days. Getting through the airport security is humiliating.
ReplyDeleteI never fly so I wouldn't know, but I can imagine. I recently read an encyclopedia on travelling and transport and the planes have really developed over the time, especially the modern models.

ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Oscars in decade or more because I think the quality is no longer there, just look at the most of the nominees this year, most of them talentless and mediocre, especially Chalamet. Michael is lovely, but I am not overly sure that he is Oscar material yet, he probably won it for reasons we all know and plus it was such a terrible year on film. I loved Oscars when Brits were winning, they are the only true thespians.

DeleteI agree with Angie how it's fascinating how much not only aviation has changed, but trains, automobiles, space rockets... As much as I hate being earthside, I would love to know what transportation will look like in 100, 200, and 300 years from now. Isn't it funny to think that future generations will think we were so primitive in our ways?
ReplyDeleteWell, Japan and China already have those extremely fast maglev trains that develop 500km per hour insane speeds, which means in the future they will be crossing distances in no time, literally, like in five minutes and you are in Novi Sad or Belgrade LOL
