have new rumours on the possible casting: delightful Emily Browning, whom we've last seen in SUCKER PUNCH and SLEEPING BEAUTY, could possibly take the lead female role joining GAME OF THRONES Kit Harington who is taking the lead male role. The script, which was rewritten by DOWNTON ABBEY's Julian Fellowes (let us hope he didn't turn it into a yawnfest), is set in the days leading up to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius and follows the love of a slave and the daughter of the slave's master amid the eruption in A.D. 79 and destruction of Pompeii. Emily will star this June in pre WW1 set movie SUMMER IN FEBRUARY with Dominic Cooper and DOWNTON ABBEY's Dan Stevens in a true tale of love, liberty and scandal amongst the Edwardian artists' colony in Cornwall!
THE SIXTH GUN SF SHOW
And in television casting news today, NBC has found their actress for
the lead role in new science fiction epic show THE SIXTH GUN which will
get its pilot this year. According to "Deadline", stunning beauty Laura
Ramsey, whom we've watched in THE RUINS, will portray the main
protagonist in the television adaptation of the science fiction western
comic book. Based on the Oni Press comic by Cullen Bunn and Brian
Hurtt, THE SIXTH GUN tells the story of six pistols of otherwordly
power, and charts the chaos that occurs when an innocent girl comes into
possession of the last, most powerful weapon. Two other additions to
the cast are W Earl Brown who will appear in the show as foul-mouthed
undead Confederate General Oliander Hume, with hunky Graham McTavish
(from THE HOBBIT) playing his lieutenant while Aldis Hodge is set to play private
detective Mr Mercer.
BELIEVE SF SHOW
Interesting...perhaps the networks are starting to dump the reality tv for shows that don't suck!! And I'm still totally excited about Pompeii...LOVE me a good historical story!
ReplyDeleteit is great how everybody is running away from movies and moving to TV even the movie stars. Better stories are over on the small screens these days.
DeleteFor real! Television has been way more original that movies lately!
Deleteyep, I haven't been excited around a movie for years now, while TV shows make me excited each season, especially now with the revival of my favourite epic and historical genre
DeleteIts a great time to be an avid television viewer!!! =) Lucky for me, I never go out and I am!!
Deleteyep, I'm currently following European BORGIA show, THE WALKING DEAD and SPARTACUS WAR OF THE DAMNED, and will start with VIKINGS this weekend possibly. And I watch a Turkish lavish soap every day on medieval sultan Suleiman and his harem :)
DeleteTelevision Renaissance!
DeleteI'm excited for Pompeii, but you know I love the historical stuff. And, um, Kit Harrington. :))
ReplyDeleteshould be fun if Anderson doesn't put his horrid wifey in the film... well, unless she burns in the Vesuvius or something :)
DeleteKit is yummy.
Deletenom nom yum yum
DeleteOh, this is all interesting info Dezmond!
ReplyDeleteindeed, Renae!
DeleteWhew! Is it hot in here today or is just those soft porn-ish photos? My, my.
ReplyDeleteif you mean Miss Laura, that is an old pic :) She is a brunette now and quite refined, these are her early works LOL
DeleteIf you mean McTavish, he is always hot as that :)
PS we shall have rather steamy underwear pics tomorrow as well :)
DeleteWOW, Laura Ramsey has her own personal flotation devices. How clever!
ReplyDeleteyou mean Jamie Chung doesn't? :)
DeleteI really don't miss TV on the hole. Though sometimes I miss the food network. I'd like to see a good TV show with funny characters that work in kitchen.
ReplyDeleteKITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL was one such show, rather cute and nice, but it didn't last long... it gave us Bradley Cooper :)
DeleteHere we have only one cooking channel - 24 KITCHEN, it's a Dutch cable channel. I watch mostly that or music channels. And when I have time I never miss COME TO DINNER type of shows in which five contestants cook for each other during a week. I watch three different version of it = Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian LOL
I did watch KC. Or most of it, I don't think I finished it out. Haven't heard of the other ones. I'll have to check YouTube. Right now I'm into major bakes.
DeleteSimon Cowell (whom we despise) also stared some new cooking competition show this week in UK but I hear it had low viewership in the opening episode.
DeleteMy favourite baker is Rudolph from Holland. Try to find RUDOLPH'S BAKERY at YouTube. He is uber delightful and always has the most delicious recipes for sweet and savoury baking
I get more cool stuff on YouTube. It's just great. Thanks. I'll have to find both of those.
DeleteRudolph is so nice that he always brings warmth to my heart when I watch his show. He is a total opposite of that horrid rude brute Ramzey what's his name?
DeleteMethinks that Believe is going to be quite the hit with such heavy hitters behind the scenes. Fingers crossed it will have a great run!
ReplyDeleteyep it is interesting that lots of famous producers and directors are doing TV this year!
DeleteNow, I see this post is a treat for the guys ~
ReplyDeleteThe sixth gun, has the most interesting plot ~ Gaining power, seems to be a recurring theme ~
there will be a treat for the ladies tomorrow :)
DeletePompeii sounds good to me. And I'll be looking forward to tomorrow's treat ;)
ReplyDeletewe do love us epics... and epicly hot pics too :)
DeleteWe know I want to see Pompeii. I wonder if they will show any of the naughty artwork that was discovered on the walls. Would be nice to see :)
ReplyDeleteWhat naughty artwork? I'm intrigued :)
DeleteOooh, Pompeii. I so dislike reality shows.Hmm, do you think they're just a way to save on the cost of screen writers?
ReplyDeleteI usually cannot stand reality shows either and almost never watch them
Deletepompeii might be interesting
ReplyDeleteit might for sure
DeletePompeii would be interesting if weren't for the love story. All the films about Pompeii involve a romance between a slave and a slave owner or the child of a slave owner. It's ridiculous, there were other types of people and stories in that Roman city. ;)
ReplyDeleteyou is ever so romantic, Melsy :P
DeleteSo lots of movies with scantily clad/revealing women?
ReplyDeleteWhy would I pay for that when I can just go online and get that stuff for free?
who says they will be scantily clad in the films?
DeleteI just watched Emily Browning in The Uninvited yesterday and thought I recognized her from A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm glad to see she's getting so many roles.
ReplyDeleteshe is nice. I can't say I like her movies, but she is lovely and I love everything Australian.
Deletethank the gods... miss chung is a goddess, for me and thank you except that old guy looks like me... after my surgery.
ReplyDeletehey you asked why do my images look washed out and blurry I think... i add a wash to them and make them smaller to not be taken... though you can take anything you would like...
Then you look stunning, Zombie Master, since Graham is super dashing gent!
DeleteSucker Punch was pretty cool. Can't go wrong with hot girls kicking ass.
ReplyDeleteit was visually lovely
DeleteEmily and Laura.... Why can't we put them in the same movie? Sorry, Dezz... couldn't help myself. You just know how to choose all the right pics. ;)
ReplyDeleteyes, it is really about time for some big glossy magazine to hire me as photography director :)
DeleteWhere do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteYou need to start a glossy magazine and hire me as your mastermind....
