He really did survive a betrayal from his beloved one in the second season of Westworld, but it does not mean James Marsden won't make a stand or THE STAND! Yep, he will lead new TV series adaptation of Stephen King's famous novel over at CBS All Access! Apparently Amber Heard, Greg Kinnear and Whoopi Goldberg are also in the run.

He will lead the nine episode adaptation of the post apocalyptic novel which depicts the total breakdown of society after the accidental release of a strain of influenza that had been modified for biological warfare and causes an apocalyptic pandemic which kills off the majority of the world’s human population.

As Deadline reports, he will be Stu  Redman, a man who is immune to the virus. He found patient zero in the original quarantine zone but never got sick so the government was precious with him in order to try to find a vaccine from his blood.

Matt Lauria leads the American part of the cast

unbeknownst to the Savages, Hugo has already lost his heart to someone else. Matt Lauria will be Bill, a bartender and bohemian artist who works in neighbourhood nightclub El Sirocco and soon becomes a confidante of both Lucy and Hugo. Although he is not what he seems and his flirtation and the hand of friendship offered to Lucy and Hugo is very much a cover for some more nefarious motivations. As Lucy fights to carve out her independence and identity, her life becomes intertwined with Cherifa Lamour (Yumna Marwan), a Moroccan dominatrix who services the diplomats and foreigners of this colourful, bohemian world and Egyptian Aristocrat Adham Abaza (Raphael Acloque), and they all become entangled with some very dangerous characters. Nina Sosanya, Rossy De Palma, Jean Marc-Barr and Raphael Acloque also star.

setting up a new project for himself: mystery drama THE THIRD DAY for British Sky and HBO (they've already did Chernobyl and Catherine the Great together).

In the six episode series, he will play Sam, who after being drawn to a mysterious Island off the British Coast, is thrown into the unusual world of its secretive inhabitants. Isolated from the mainland, the rituals of the island begin to overwhelm him, and he is confronted by a trauma from his past. As the line between reality and fantasy blurs, Sam finds himself immersed in an emotional quest which puts him at odds with the islanders and begins to threaten their way of life. If I got it right, the series will have an internationally famous cast.
