A SMALL LIGHT ANNE FRANK RESCUERS' MINI TV SERIES TRAILER! PERIOD SET DRAMA ACTORS TO LOOK OUT FOR: LOUIS HOFMANN & JONAS BLOQUET

 ACTORS TO LOOK OUT FOR
RADIANT LOUIS HOFMANN
This wildly beautiful and deeply radiant German star had first caught your eye in Netflix hit Dark, and then in German War War II movie THE FORGER in which he was forging passports for Jews. He again played a

German in the middle of the Second World War in BBC's mini series LIFE AFTER LIFE. Since that historical period is his specialty, he will also star in Disney's ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE series adaptation as German soldier whose path collides with a blind French teenager. Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo also star. Also arriving sometime this year is MASTERS OF THE AIR series produced by Steven Spielberg, in which he plays an American bomber pilot together with Callum Turner and a massive cast with hundreds of actors. Before all of this, Louis stole our hearts in beautiful coming of age movie CENTRE OF MY WORLD in which he had beautifully graphic gay action with Sisi's emperor Franz Jannick Schumann

MAGNETIC JONAS BLOQUET
Jonas Bloquet is 30 years old
This Belgian hunk who is both an actor and a director has caught the attention of period drama lovers first in successful French series adaptation of famous novel GERMINAL, a story about the mid' 19th century miners who are trying to fight for their rights and in which he gave a convincing performance of a man conflicted between loyalty and money. Then we also watched him in period set horror series 1899 that Netflix has recently cancelled and in which he played Lucien. Currently, if you are in USA you are watching his truly delightful work as the Austrian emperor Joseph in the PBS Masterpiece MARIE ANTOINETTE saga where, beside ruling Austria with his mother Maria Theresa, he is also the brother of the stubborn and daft queen of France.

   A SMALL LIGHT TRAILER
FOR NEW HISTORICAL SERIES
National Geographics has released a trailer for new eight part mini series A SMALL LIGHT which arrives May 1st with episodes on Nat Geo weekly
Series starts May 1st on Nat Geo
and full series streaming on Disney and Hulu. It follows the story of 20-something secretary Miep Gies (Bel Powley), who didn’t hesitate when her boss Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) asked her to hide him and his family from the Nazis during World War II. For the next two years, Miep, her husband Jan (Joe Cole) and several other everyday heroes watched over the eight souls hiding in the secret annex. It was Miep who found Anne’s (Billie Boullet) diary and preserved it so that she and Otto could later share it with the world. The series title comes from something Gies said late in her life: “I don’t like being called a hero because no one should ever think you have to be special to help others. Even an ordinary secretary or a housewife or a teenager can turn on a small light in a dark room.”

  2. In 1988, they made an excellent film called "the Attic"that was very close to the true story. MIep was alve at the time and praised it. I dread this revisionist attempts, and why National Geographic? The last I saw of them "Genius"was embarrasingly woke and stuffed with presentisms.

    1. They produced it for their own Network :) Three WW2 series this spring, a bit too much, methinks. And All The LIght and Masters of Air too sometime later this year.

    2. I’m a WWII buff , but I fear this flood of war films will stop after December affected by the period drama decrease that we both deplore. Period piece’s latest and last refuge is in the Western genre. Now, having Transatlantic and this Anne Frank thing in spring is not an accident, since 1977 , American TV has had a penchant to air Holocaust projects in time with Passover.

  3. Netflix already cancelled 1899? It sure didn't last long, did it?

    1. It was cancelled very quickly as it did not reach their quota which says you have to have over 40 million viewing hours to live again. Shadow and Bone will be cancelled too as the second season opened to just 4 or 5 million while the first one last year had 50 million LOL

    2. Ooof, that’s a sharp decline in views! First season must have been awful!

    3. It was morally very questionable, they were celebrating criminals. And the lead actress was the worst thing I have seen on the telly in years, truly a terrible actress and wildly annoying voice and facial expressions, the high school idiocy level.
