Rhys Ifans might join
Bradley Cooper, Toby Jones
and
Jennifer Lawrence in
SERENA a movie adaptation of a novel by
Ron Rash. Story unfolds in the mountains of 1920s North Carolina, with Cooper playing a timber baron and Lawrence playing his wife Serena, who battles the government to save their lands and engineers the murder of her husband's illegitimate son. Ifans is in talks to play Galloway, a vicious Appalachian guide who becomes Serena's muscle after she saves his life. Jones is set to play Sheriff McDowell, who doggedly pursues Cooper's character. Ifans has been quite busy recently: beside starring in
Roland Emmerich's
ANONYMOUS last year he also plays Lizard in
THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN and will also appear next to
Emily Blunt and
Jon Segel in
THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT.
HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES

John Krasinski and Matt Damon will star in
Gus Van Sant's
THE PROMISED LAND, in which the story centres on a sales executive
who begins to question his life when he is called to a small town on business.
According to "Variety"
Warner Bros. will adapt
LUCID comic into a film. The story of the
Archaia Entertainment (with whom Warner is also doing BOLIVAR film
I've mentioned last week) comic takes place in a parallel universe where magic is real and world leaders have secret agents working to fight off supernatural threats. Main character is a young agent, recently appointed "Protector of the Realm" who must use his skills as a covert spy and combat mage to stop an occult technology dealer.

Apparently Jennifer Lawrence was at the Mall of America last Friday, I just read in the paper today. Thousands of people actually camped out for 12 hours to see her, Josh Hutcherson & the rest of the Hunger Games cast. Good thing I didn't go to the mall (it's only 15 min from my work) as it must have been nuts!! Liam Hemsworth wasn't there though, he'd have been the only person I'd like to see.

DeleteBrake looks kind of like a hyped up Phone Booth or the Ryan Reynolds one with him in the casket, prob cheap to make though. The Promised Man sounds like a Doc Hollywoond rip off.

DeleteHe was crazy in that. Hardly seems like the same guy, standing there in his underwear. I really like him in serious roles though too.

You know me so well, my friend. ;) I am with you on the shops and supermarkets. My cousin lives in a beautiful little town in central Illinois, but it's like an hour and half to the nearest urban area with shops, etc. Yikes! I go nuts after a day.

DeleteWhat in the name of all that is holy is Dorf doing wearing that white pair of jeans with that coat. Horrid, horrid, horrid I can't stand it. And the movies Brake doesn't appeal to me either as the plot seems a bit obvious to me. None of these really float my boat for some reason. I think there are too many possibly good movies coming out for these to compete with.

Oh, my, I almost fell of my chair the first time I discovered the pic :) Those abs of his are the hottest abs in the intergalactic history of abs :) And I wouldn't mind having that coat :) It would go superb with dark blue jeans, dark blue sweater and white T underneath ;)
