Netflix has dropped a teaser for their new dark comedy series NO GOOD DEED which arrives December 12th following Lydia (Lisa Kudrow) and Paul (Ray Romano) as they move out of their empty nest to restart their life. They list their gorgeous 1920s Spanish-style villa located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Los Angeles and the real estate frenzy begins. Multiple families all race to buy what they believe to be their dream house, convinced it will fix all of their very different problems. But as Lydia and Paul know all too well, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a true nightmare. As they struggle to hide the dark and dangerous secrets that linger inside their longtime home, Paul and Lydia begin to realize that the only way they’ll escape the past is to finally face it. Disney Plus has released a new trailer for their exciting new  RIVALS eight part series set against the backdrop of the excess and antics of the power-grabbing

THE STORY OF RIVALS

In the fictional county of Rutshire, along-standing rivalry between two powerful men is about to boil over. Alex Hassell plays dashing ex-Olympian, Tory Member of Parliament and incorrigible rake, the dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black. David Tennan is Ruperts ambitious and egotistical Rutshire neighbour Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium Television. A long-simmering power struggle between them threatens to boil over when the two men lock horns over the future of Corinium. Caught in the crossfire is TV presenter Declan OHara, (Aidan Turner). Well, it seems that beside the second season of Italian costume drama Lidia Poet and the fourth season of much better and more glamurous German series which deals with the same topic Sisi, the end of the year will also bring us the second season of THE EMPRESS German historical (albeit it with more inaccuracies than truths and facts) series which hits Netflix November 22nd with six new episodes and we have the first trailer as well. Two years after the first season, which ended with Sisi revealing to the mob in front of the court that she is expecting an heir, the series continues the story of Austrian empress Sisi and her husband emperor Franz. 

 

 THE STORY OF THE SECOND SEASON

 The first crisis is barely over and the young couple wants to enjoy their fresh marital bliss when dark clouds gather over Schönbrunn Palace: Franz (Philip Froissant) unexpectedly faces a powerful adversary in Europe. And Elisabeth (Devrim Lingnau) comes under great pressure, because an heir to the throne is to secure the future of the empire as quickly as possible. When fate strikes with all its power, the couple’s love threatens to finally break apart. And Elisabeth must fight not only for her family, but also for the integrity of her soul…

The second season will see two new faces with Josephine Thiesen as Princess Marie Charlotte of Belgium and Christoph Favre as Napoleon III joining the returning cast which includes Johannes Nussbaum, Almila Bagriacik, Runa Greiner, and Alexander Finkenwirth.  Channel 5 has sent us a delightful trailer for their new series coming up this Autumn THE HARDACRES, a sweeping rags to riches story that follows the lives, loves and fortunes of the working class Hardacre family as they move from a grimy fish dock to a vast country estate in 1890’s Yorkshire. The six episode costume drama will hit the British channel Monday, October 7th! Coming from the creators of All Creatures Great and Small it aims to bring the same heartwarming feel and family fun. BBC has sent us the first image of Charles Dance as famous Michelangelo in their new docuseries RENAISSANCE: THE BLOOD AND THE BEAUTY. The three part series, which will also air on PBS, explores an era of violence and power politics that produced some of the Western world’s greatest works of art. The new documentary series aims to reveal an unfamiliar side to the Renaissance, with Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael also represented along with their patrons in 16th-century Italy.

After casting Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott in the lead role, Netflix has added Mike Faist and our lovely Hoon Lee to the cast of EAST OF EDEN mini series adaptation of Steinbeck's classic novel produced by Zoe Kazan, whose grandad Elia directed the original film. Faist will play the role that was then played by James Dean. Set in California’s Salinas Valley over a period that stretches from the Civil War to the end of World War I, the epic novel tells the interconnected stories of the Hamilton family, an Irish immigrant family with nine children, and the Trask family, lead by the wealthy Adam Trask (to be played by Abbott in the seven part series).

And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and putting an end to the slave rebellion? Beside Lucy Lawless who will return as Lucretia in flashbacks, I told you that the cast will have Graham McTavish, Tenika Davis, Jamaica Vaughan, Ivana Baquero, Jordi Webber, Claudia Black, India Shaw-Smith and Leigh Gill. BBC has announced new six episode romantic comedy series FILM CLUB that will star Aimee Lou Wood and Ralph Davis as Tom and Evie who watch a film together in her garage every week. Evie lovingly decorates the space to match the film of the week - from a yellow brick road for The Wizard of Oz to a space craft for Alien. It's magical. They’re there for the love of the movies. Or at least, that’s what they tell themselves. In reality, Tom is madly in love with Evie. What he doesn’t know is that Evie is in love with him too. But when Tom accepts a job at the other end of the country, their happily ever after comes under threat. He's leaving in six weeks. That means Evie has six film clubs left to tell Tom how she feels, or risk losing him forever.

It will start shooting its ten episodes next February in Serbia: MGM + has ordered a new ROBIN HOOD series from John Glenn and director Jonathan English. It will bring a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, and the epic love story between him and a courageous and daring Marian. Following the Norman invasion of England, Rob – a Saxon forester’s son – and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord fall in love and work together to fight for justice and freedom. As Rob rises as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the power at court, and both work together to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to the land. It is aimed to air at the end of 2025.

  TEACUP SERIES IS
an adaptation of the 1988 book Stinger by Robert McCammon. Showrunner Ian McCulloh said that the series comprising of eight half hour episodes is a puzzle-box mystery, an edge-of-your-seat thriller, a can’t-but-must look horror story, a family drama, a science fiction epic! It's a genre-bending blend of horror, mystery, and drama, with layers that unfold like a captivating puzzle. It goes beyond chills and thrills
and holds up a mirror to humanity, exploring the darkness that resides within us all. The novel was set in a town driven to the brink by racial tension, gang violence, and a collapsing economy. But things can always get worse, and they do so with astonishing speed when an unidentified spacecraft crash lands in the desert outside of town, followed by a second craft bearing the alien being who will soon be known as Stinger. After premiering with two episodes on October 10th it will stream the rest weekly.

Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever. When local Officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Melanie Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.  David James Elliott will be the Sheriff determined to keep his town and family as normal and safe as possible! Romy Weltman is his daughter, while Andy McQueen will play a scientist brought to study the bizarre phenomenon that brought people back to life.

After Rebus and Maigret, the latest classic detective to get a TV series reboot is BERGERAC and UKTV is celebrating the announcement with first images from the sets. The six episode reboot will arrive next year to U and U&DRAMA free streamer. Taking the leading role of Jim Bergerac is Damien Molony alongside Zoë Wanamaker as Jim’s mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford, and Philip Glenister as Arthur Wakefield. Further cast include Pippa Haywood, Robert Gilbert, Sasha Behar, Timothy Renouf  and Celine Arden.

 

THE MODERN RE-IMAGINING
will honour the iconic detective drama, but with a contemporary twist. Unlike the original hit from the 80s, the new series will see one character-led murder mystery run across all six episodes. Viewers will meet Jim Bergerac as a broken man, grappling with grief and alcoholism following his wife’s recent death. His mother-in-law, Charlie, is concerned Jim isn’t putting his daughter Kim first and, when a woman from a wealthy Jersey family is murdered, Jim must fight through his personal struggles to become the formidable investigator he once was. With a troublesome convict resurfacing from his past, Bergerac is required to call on his sharp investigative instincts and past successes to navigate the intricate family dynamics, and watchful eyes of the police force, in order to solve the case.
