Quite unexpectedly, the 2nd season of Italy's period set series THE LAW ACCORDING TO LIDIA POET has been announced for October 30th over at Netflix. Lidia (Matilda de Angelis) is not allowed to be a lawyer because she is a woman. So this time she aims even higher, she wants to change the law. While she continues to collaborate with her brother Enrico (Eduardo Scarpetta), tackling new cases and fighting for women’s rights, she wants to convince him to run for Parliament so that her law can finally find a voice. Lidia is completely done with love, especially with Jacopo (Pier Luigi Pasino), responsible for having sold the family villa and on a collision course with all the Poëts. But Jacopo and Lidia are forced to meet again to share, reluctantly, a secret investigation that concerns them closely, rediscovering the complicity and fun that has always bound them. We have the first image of Harry Lawtey and Toby Jones in MR. BURTON biopic which will tell the true story of the relationship between Welsh schoolmaster Philip Burton and a wild young schoolboy called Richard Jenkins. The latter dreamed of becoming an actor, but his ambitions were in danger of being derailed by a combination of family trouble, the pressure of war, and his own lack of discipline. Mr. Burton recognized the raw talent in his pupil, and made it his mission to fight for him, becoming his tutor, strict taskmaster and eventually his adoptive father. Actor Burton would go on to be nominated for seven Oscars and was well known for his turbulent marriage to Elizabeth Taylor. Aneurin Barnard and Lesley Manville also star.

While talking to Hollywood Reporter about the potential second season of Prime Video and Peacock's Ancient Rome epic series Those About to Die, which could have flashbacks into The Year of Four Emperors with all the Nero drama, Roland Emmerich has revealed that he might do a three season historical series LAWRENCE IN ARABIA his own take on the legendary Peter O'Toole movie. He is writing it with Anthony McCarten and says it will have more characters than the film. They are pitching it next month.

She believed she would save her country during the Hundred Years’ War. It will be the ultimate teenage girl coming of age story, set in the Hundred Years’ War in the 15th century.

This historical biopic centres around a famous Hungarian doctor Ignac Semmelweis (Miklós H. Vecsei) who introduced antiseptic procedures at a Vienna maternity clinic. In 1847 a mysterious epidemic is raging in a maternity clinic in Vienna, while the doctor Ignác Semmelweis tries to defeat puerperal fever by going against all traditional theories. After playing in Hungarian cinemas earlier this year it became their most watched movie in last five years. The film is available for streaming on Netflix in some countries, methinks.

This connection makes Frasier concerned that Phoebe could be his daughter. Amy Sedaris will play Doc Stathos, a therapist who admires Frasier. She doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband, who no longer loves her, was somehow involved. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago, the thriller slowly pieces together the truth.

Sky History has revealed a first look at their first ever scripted drama, three part series GUNPOWDER SIEGE in which Chuku Modu leads the story set in 1605, as a leader of a group of plotters that attempted to blow up King James I at the opening of Parliament. As Deadline reports, it delves into the aftermath of the plot, spotlighting its three leaders: Robert Catesby, his cunning cousin Thomas Wintour (Luke Hobson), and their ruthless enforcer, Thomas Percy (Luke Roberts). We follow them as they try to raise a revolutionary army – and while the captured Guy Fawkes is being tortured in the Tower of London. Charlotte Pyke plays Anne Vaux, a supporter of the Plot and who acts as narrator. The series will air November 4th.

THE STORY  

Set in the Joseon era during a tumultuous time in the aftermath of war, the films takes a journey through the lives of two childhood friends-turned-adversaries: Cheon Yeong (Gang Dong-won), a slave with remarkable martial prowess; and Jong Ryeo (Park Jeong-ming), Cheon Yeng's master and scion of Joseon's most influential military family. Cha Seung-won stars as King Seonjo in  the South Korean epic movie.
