NEW UPDATES ON "THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN" AND "HOBBIT"

The official news is that "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" is entirely shot but it will take two more years to finish its whole production. Although "Paramount" has put December 23rd, 2011 as its release date, Peter Jackson has recently told BBC that the movie is done but it is in a rough state and it will take a very long time to render it. It is interesting that Steven Spielberg has spent 30 days directing "Tintin" this spring and then he handed it over to Peter Jackson, who is now supposed to work on it for two years.

At the same time, Jackson also gave some new update on "Hobbit": "We're currently working on the second script which we hope to have completed by the end of this year or beginning of next. When the scripts are completed, we can begin with the exact calculation of the necessary budget. We hope to start filming in the middle of next year. However, we've received no green light from the studio yet." It will take more than a whole year to shoot the two complete "Hobbit" films, but the second part is not expected to be released before 2012, while the first one is also scheduled for December 2011.

EXCLUSIVE TRAILER FOR "THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND" WITH BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD AND CHRIS EVANS

The trailer for the new drama "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond", based on a Tennessee Williams story is finally out and you can watch it over at my YouTube channel.
Starring Bryce Dallas Howard ("Lady in the Water", "Terminator Salvation") and Chris Evans, the movie follows a young and rebellious socialite Fisher Willow, who tainted by a family scandal, boldly hires farm hand Jimmy Dobyne to be her escort for the elaborate party season. As her passion for Jimmy grows, Fisher defies social convention and the burden of history to risk everything for a chance at real love... until the loss of a priceless diamond sets off a series of accusations and betrayals that threaten to shatter their hopes for the future. With the indelible characters and breathtaking Southern backdrops, the film tells a heartbreaking tale of seduction and loss. Of course the loss of the diamond is a metaphor for the loss of love and heart. Although Bryce didn't really impress me in the trailer, I did like Chris Evans, and I liked the feeling of the past seen in the movie which seems very classic and elegant. We really don't see such films often these days.

FIRST PICS FROM "THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER"

The first official pictures from "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" have finally leaked onto the Net. In the first three pictures you can see the helm of the Dawn Treader, then Ben Barnes as king Caspian, and Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensie on the Dawn Treader. The new sequel follows the young Pevensies siblings as they travel with Caspian on a quest around the world in the Dawn Treader. Three years have passed since the events of "Prince Caspian", peace has been established in Narnia, and Caspian has undertaken his oath to Aslan to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia. Directed by Michael Apted ("The World Is Not Enough", "Amazing Grace") the film should be out December 2010.

Have you got a bit bored with Chinese epics? Maybe it's time to try an Indian one? Starring popular Indian hunk Salman Khan it will be the biggest Bollywood blockbuster event ever. It has all - large scale battles, fierce sword-welding warriors and a romantic love interest. The director has used hundreds of fighters, thousands of horses and hundreds of elephants, plus some camels to shoot all the amazing action sequences.

LADY GAGA AS ALIEN CONQUEROR :)))

Here's a hilarious, but great, YouTube video mix made to prove that spectacular Lady Gaga is really an alien poised to take over and destroy the world using "V's" mothership :) Love Gaga, love the song, love the show, love everything.

HISTORICAL EPIC ABOUT EMPEROR BARBAROSSA

"Barbarossa" is a historical movie, which premiered this October in Italy. Directed by Renzo Martinelli and shot last year in Romania, it stars Rutger Hauer as famous Frederick I, one of the most famous of German emperors. He had a majestic appearance with a long red beard and so the people called him Barbarossa, or Red-Beard. He came to the throne in 1152.
My Italian is bad, but as far as I got it, the movie deals with the Lombardian revolt from the 12th century when Italy was a part of the Holy Roman Empire. Frederick Barbarossa came over the Alps with an army of a hundred thousand German soldiers to deal with the uprising. He put the city of Milan under a very long siege. Its fortifications were destroyed and many of its buildings ruined. But even then the spirit of the Lombards was not broken. Milan and the other cities of Lombardy united in a league and defied the emperor. He called upon the German dukes to bring their men to his aid but in his campaign against the Lombards Frederick was unsuccessful. His army was completely defeated and he was compelled to grant freedom to the cities of Lombardy.
After that Frederick devoted himself to making Germany a united nation, he also raised an army of Crusaders in the German Empire and with one hundred and fifty thousand men started for Palestine. But in the history, he's probably most famous for his bizarre death. He didn't die on a battlefield, but in a river in which he fell while traveling to one of his Crusades: Barbarossa's heavy armor made him helpless and he was drowned.
You can watch the trailer for this movie over at my official YouTube channel.
When talking about this movie, I must mention my dearest Romanian friend Andreea Tanasescu who was involved in it. She is also known for her amazing casting work in Tarsem Singh's "The Fall", Joel Schumacher's "Blood Creek" with Michael Fassbender and Henry Cavill, "Bloodrayne", "Gunpowder, Treason and Plot" ....

MY, OH, MY - TRACI LORDS AND ANTONIO SABATO JR. IN "PRINCESS OF MARS"!!!

Oh, here's an interesting sf project :) Since Disney is preparing it's big budgeted and star packed adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' famous novel "John Carter of Mars", ASYLUM ENTERTAINMENT has decided to make their own low-budget version, "Princess of Mars", starring two of the biggest sex symbols of the early 90's - Antonio Sabato Jr. and, believe it or not, Traci Lords. As if that's not enough, here's another charming moment: since James Cameron has once named Burroughs as an influence, the trailer for "Princess of Mars" brags that the movie is "the inspiration for James Cameron's Avatar!" :))
You can, and most certainly MUST, see the trailer for this movie over at my official YouTube channel and check it out yourself. It goes straight to DVD, and is out December 29, 2009. And it actually doesn't look that bad for a low-budget sf movie, I think I'll reserve it for a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon homecinema.
In case you don't know, it follows a US soldier who finds himself inexplicably transported to Mars in the midst of a war between two alien races.

RYAN REYNOLDS TALKS ABOUT PLAYING GREEN LANTERN

It seems that hunky Ryan Reynolds really had a good year in 2009. Not only that he married his beloved Scarlett Johansson, and starred in two big cinema hits "Wolverine" and "The Proposal", but he also got two superhero tittle roles in the future blockbusters "Green Lantern" and "Deadpool".
Here's what he said recently about playing the green masked hero: "I've known about Green Lantern my whole life, but I've never really followed it before. I fell in love with the character when I met with director Martin Campbell. When I sat down with him, I really got what it is that this guy is all about. When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba--s of titanium, and the other part is that he's slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of Green Lantern. He's less of the director and more of a general. He just really knows strategies, he knows the intricacies, and his attention to detail! It's infectious. I sat down with him, and I could not even believe what he was saying. When I went to the meeting, I was entirely cynical. I thought, "What the hell, I'll see what they have to say," and I left the room with a completely different perspective."
Naturally, you are perfectly aware that HOLLYWOOD SPY has published this story only because it matches its trade mark green colours :)))

ERIC BANA IN AN EPIC ABOUT FAMOUS TURKISH SEAMAN AND CARTOGRAPHER PIRI REIS

It seems that Turkish government is ready to support the movie project which will describe the life of famous 16th century Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis. This epic movie is expected for theatrical release in 2011. The movie, working tittle "Barbaresque", will recount how Piri Reis, best known for world maps collected in his "Kitab-i Bahriye" ("Book of Navigation"), along with his uncle, Kemal Reis, took part in an Ottoman navy mission to Spain to rescue the Arabs and Sephardic Jews who were expelled by the Spanish Inquisition in 1492. A life-size replica of Piri Reis’s vessel is currently being built in the Tuzla shipyards for the purpose of the shooting.
And why is this project so interesting to HOLLYWOOD SPY (beside the fact that we are obsessed with historical epics)? Well, Eric Bana has apparently been in talks to take the role of the legendary seaman. The producers are, reportedly, also in talks to sign French actor Jean Reno for the role of Kemal Reis and they would like to sign in Keira Knightley as well (which we hope won't happen, there's just too much of her these days). Shooting will take place in Malta, Italy and Spain.

ZACHARY LEVI SAYS HE ALMOST ENDED UP IN "THOR"

Here's a charming piece of information :) In one of his recent interviews Zachary Levi, the adorkable star of popular TV comedy "Chuck", has revealed he was cast in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" adaptation.
He was set to play Fandral Dashing, one of The Warriors Three, but had to drop out in the last minute due to scheduling conflicts when NBC ordered six additional episodes of "Chuck". And what's more Zachary says he had initially been invited to audition for the lead role in "Thor" but he told them: "I'm tall and in pretty good shape, but I'm not big and girthy like that."
Off course, you read last week in HOLLYWOOD SPY that the role of Fandral was given to equally charming Stuart Townsend, but it's interesting how long the list of the previous candidates for the role actually was. In one moment or another during the long casting process, actors considered for the role of Fandral included names such are Jude Law, Paul Rudd, Dominic Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Andy Whitfield (our new Spartacus).

"UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE" GETTING MADE INTO AN ADVENTURE MOVIE

According to "Latino Review" Sony is going to hire "Conan" screen writers Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppen heimer to write the screen play for the adaptation of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune", hugely popular PlayStation 3 game. This game follows the journey of Nathan Drake, supposed descendant of the explorer Sir Francis Drake, as he seeks the lost treasure of El Dorado, with the help of his friend Victor "Sully" Sullivan and journalist Elena Fisher. The game was well-received by critics who praised its high production values comparing them to that of summer blockbuster films. The only problems the movie adaptation will have to solve are the dark colours and bad dialogues in the game.

HOLLYWOOD SPY'S NEW GROOVE :)

So guys, as you can see I decided to change the design of HOLLYWOOD SPY again, influenced by all these upcoming reboots, remakes and redesigns going around in the real Tinseltown :) Tell me how do you like it?
I've finally learnt something about HTML (enough for now, but not enough generally) and managed to change my background picture.
First critics and reviews say HOLLYWOOD SPY now looks more like its proud owner - elegant, fresh, bright, modern and charming :PPPPP Blush, blush, blush :)

KULL WILL CONQUER YOU AGAIN (OR AT LEAST HE'LL TRY)

Since the original movie from 1997 obviously wasn't bad enough, it appears that "Paradox Entertainment" is presently working on a reboot of the "Kull the Conqueror". The 90's movie was helmed by John Nicolella with Kevin Sorbo in the title role. Kull is the product of Robert Ervin Howard who later used Kull as a template for creating the character of his another successful sword and sorcery hero - Conan.

A native of Atlantis, Kull came of age with his family in Tiger Valley until a flood wiped out his clan out. He is brought up by another clan, but he stands up for a woman destined to burn alive and ends up banned from Atlantis. He sails from the continent and becomes a mercenary. Later on he'll become king, just as Conan will do thousands of years later. Under his influence, his land Valusia ends up as the most powerful kingdom of the time.
So what's up with this? We'll suddenly have Conan, Kull and Red Sonia all on the big screen again in the upcoming decade?

FIRST "NINE" POSTER FINALLY OUT

The first poster for "Nine" musical finally arrives, only a month before its premiere. Directed by Rob Marshall "Nine" is a vibrant and provocative film that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of epic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), a young American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Stacy Fergie Ferguson) and his mother (Sophia Loren).

UROS STOJANOVIC DIRECTOR OF SERBIAN BLOCKBUSTER "TEARS FOR SALE" TO HELM "NIGHTFALL"

According to "Variety" "Aurora Productions" has teamed up with Platinum Studios to develop a feature film of Platinum's graphic novel "Nightfall". Penned by Scott O. Brown and illustrated by Ferran Xalabarder, this 2007 novel centres on a man who is sent to prison only to discover it is controlled by vampires. The producers want to make a visually very exciting movie, which won't be difficult since according to first gossips the director of the movie will be Uros Stojanovic, young Serbian director the author of visually sensational
epic tale "Tears for Sale" (aka "Charleston and Vendetta") which was the biggest Serbian blockbuster in 2008 set after WWI when Serbian women were left without any men after the war in which almost one  million Serbs were killed (Serbia has 8 million people in total).  The film followed two sisters in a village left without men, who went on an adventure to find themselves some manly love. You can check out the trailer for Uros' blockbuster right here:

JERRY BRUCKHEIMER GOING SF WITH "ALIEN LEGION"

It seems that "Disney" and Jerry Bruckheimer are planning an adaptation of an epic comic book from the 1980s called "Alien Legion" that was basically the French Foreign Legion in outer space. Writers Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, ("3:10 to Yuma", "Wanted", "The A-Team"), are writing the screenplay.
"Alien Legion" was about the members of a military unit called Force Nomad, composed of the "dregs of the universe" with recruits coming from all kinds of different planets. The cast includes leader Sarigar, whose lower half is serpentine, fully humanoid Torie Montroc, and probably the most popular character, Jugger Grimrod, a Thraxian. The idea of "Alien Legion" universe was to describe a giant extrapolation of the American democratic melting-pot society where different races and cultures work together for the common good while dealing with the pluses and problems that the nation's diversity creates.
The comic was the longest continuously running series in the history of 1980s "Marvel" imprint "Epic Comics".

IDRIS ELBA AS THE GUARDIAN OF ASGARD IN "THOR"

Not a day goes by without a new update on Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of "Thor". According to "The Hollywood Reporter" Idris Elba will play Heimdall, the guardian of Thor's home land of Asgard joining a long list of actors who were already cast for the shooting which begins in January. It is a bit weird, considering he's black, but hopefully they'll fit him somehow in the world of Nordic gods :)

TARSEM'S "WAR OF THE GODS" RENAMED INTO "DAWN OF WAR" AND STARTS SHOOTING NEXT SPRING

We've finally got some fresh update on my favourite upcoming project, epic adventure "War of the Gods". Its director, visual master genius Tarsem Singh ("The Cell", "The Fall") has renamed it into "Dawn of War" probably to escape the comparisons with the similar flick "Clash of the Titans" which will amaze the audiences one year before his movie. Tarsem Singh is ready to begin shooting "Dawn of War" in Montreal this March with the premiere set for 2011.
"Dawn of War" is a mythological tale set in war-torn ancient Greece where the young warrior prince Theseus will lead his men in a battle against evil that will see the Gods and Men fighting against the Titans and Barbarians.
HOLLYWOOD SPY has been following this project for more than a year now, and we've already reported that Theseus will be played by talented and charismatic young star Henry Cavill who has formed his fan base by playing in Showtime's renowned historical show "The Tudors".
On the other side, Tarsem is known as a director who prefers quality over quantity, so he didn't do a lot of movies in his career, but both of his films represent true master pieces of art and imagination, so it's no wonder many people consider him an author who paints films using camera as painting brush. That's why we expect "Dawn of War" to be an epic masterpiece as we've never seen before.
You can check out Tarsem's directorial vision of this movie in HOLLYWOOD SPY's previous update on "Dawn of War".

BRAD PITT JUMPS INTO "DARK VOID" AND GETS TOTALLY FUTURISTIC

According to "MovieWeb", Brad Pitt is venturing into the world of video games by developing a feature film based off the upcoming video game "Dark Void" which is to be released this January.
As "MovieWeb" reports Pitt will develop and produce the film through his "Plan B" production shingle and it could be a possible starring vehicle for the actor as well. The game follows the exploits of a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle and finds himself in a mysterious alternate reality where aliens are planning to take over civilization.
And speaking of Brad, there are some other rumors as well that he will star in the sf flick "The Sparrow" about a Jesuit priest who accompanies a space crew to a distant planet after Earth receives its first contact from aliens.
HOLLYWOOD SPY has already reported that George Miller is planning a sf epic "The Odyssey" which will set the famous Homer's piece right into distant space and distant future, with Brad Pitt playing one of the main roles.

SYFY ORDERS AMERICAN VERSION OF BBC'S HIT SHOW "BEING HUMAN"

It seems that SyFy channel has handed out a 13-episode order to a U.S. version of the BBC hit show "Being Human" HOLLYWOOD SPY has recently wrote about. The show revolves around three twenty something roommates, who happen to be a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf, as they help one another navigate the complexities of living double lives.
The deal for a U.S. take on the show at SyFy marks the first scripted series order for the cable network following its rebranding this summer designed to attract broader audience. The original series, had an initial six-episode run on BBC Three. It was so successful that the show got a transfer to BBC One. It is slated to return early next year for an eight-episode second season in Europe. SyFy is not going to slavishly replicate the British version since some of network’s core audience already might be familiar with the original series, which runs in the U.S. on BBC America.
The producers are currently searching for a writer to adapt “Being Human,” with SyFy planning a launch in summer or fall 2010. Although I grew to like the British original, I'm not sure how successful the American version could be, since it is exactly its Britishness that makes it so charming and refreshing.

LEONA LEWIS SINGING "AVATAR'S" MAIN MUSIC THEME

Since James Cameron's last movie "Titanic" had a theme tune that topped charts across the world and became one of the bestselling and most beloved songs in history, he decided to do the same with his upcoming sf saga "Avatar". One of today's best vocals, young superstar Leona Lewis will sing "I See You" the main theme from "Avatar". The song will be released as a single on 15th December, just ahead of the long awaited space opera and will also play over the closing credits of "Avatar".
The new song is written and produced by composer James Horner and producer Simon Franglen, both of whom worked on Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from 1997's "Titanic". And since Leona truly is considered to be an heiress to Celine's pop queen throne, having both her sensuality, talent and breathtaking voice, this seems as the most perfect choice.
Being Leona's huge fan, now I just can't wait to hear the song before seeing the movie itself :) She has just released her second album "Echo" and a brand new single "Happy" which was composed by amazing Ryan Tedder who made her breakthrough hit "Bleeding Love" as well as Beyonce's "Halo" and his own band One Republic's hit "Apologize".
Jake Nava, famous music video director who created some of the most beautiful music videos such are Shakira's "Shewolf", Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy", Robbie Williams' "Lovelight" , is currently shooting the video for Leona's Avatar song.

SAM WORTHINGTON AND MICHAEL FASSBENDER ARE OUR MOST PROMISING UPCOMING MALE ACTION STARS

Well our two week search for "The Most Promising Upcoming Action Star" is over, and I must say the voting was overwhelming in amazing number of voters and the close competition between the two ultra talented and ultra charming actors Sam Worthington and Michael Fassbender. Sam is our winner with 39% of votes, while Michael took second place with 29% of votes. Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth ended up in 3rd and 4th place.
Sam Worthington basically did what no one has done before - appeared out of nowhere stealing all the main roles in all the biggest blockbusters of the decade. "Terminator Salvation", "Avatar", "Clash of the Titans" are on his list, and plus the rumours that he might play in the remake od "Mad Max" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (which has just been postponed for some better times by its studio), and was even the top contender to play James Bond before it became James BLond. He is young, handsome, charismatic, intelligent and heroic looking at the same time, and is the key proof how Australia always nurtures the best of actors. Before he became an actor he was a bricklayer and says he would like to go on "Dancing with the Stars" :)) It's just a matter of time before he lands a super-hero role as well.

Michael Fassbender is also young, gorgeous, talented and extremelly promising. We'd first noticed him as the amazing Stelios in epic "300" in which he charmed us when after cutting a Persian warrior's hand off and hearing him yell "My arm, my arm!!!" elegantly puts him off by saying "It's not yours, anymore!" And then when another Persian tells him "Our arrows will blot out the sun!" he responds with "Then we will fight in the shade!" After that he had marvellous action roles in "Town Creek" and "Inglorious Basterds" and breathtaking dramatic performances in "The Fish Tank" and "Hunger". He will continue shinning as an action hero in "Centurion" and "Jonah Hex". He is the key proof how Ireland and Germany can nurture the best of actors. It's just a matter of time before he lands an Oscar :)
This week we are chosing your most anticipated December movie, and then, after that we'll launch our new two week long search for "The Most Starlicious Young Actress"

UMA THURMAN AS MEDUSA IN "PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS"

STUART TOWNSEND, RAY STEVENSON AND TADANOBU ASANO PLAYING THE WARRIORS THREE IN "THOR"?

Today's hottest gossip is again connected with the new casting in Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of "Thor". "Variety" has published (and quickly removed) an article about Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano being hired to play a trio of Asgardian adventurers who fight alongside Thor, called The Warriors Three.
If the story is proved true, they will join the cast that already includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson and Stellan Skarsgard. This interesting fellowship will start shooting in two months, with the premiere of the movie set for 2011.

AMAZING NEW POSTERS FOR TIM BURTON'S "ALICE IN WONDERLAND"

Three amazing new posters for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" have just been revealed, showing the colourful and picturesque images of all the main characters played by Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman, Mia Wasikowska .... The movie is out March 2010.

PAUL W.S.ANDERSON'S MUSKETEERS WILL BE AN $80 MILLION DOLLAR MOVIE!

"Hollywood Spy" has recently reported that Paul W. S. Anderson is planning his own adaptation of the popular story about the Musketeers. In the latest update, "FirstShowingNet" has talked a few days ago with "Resident Evil:Afterlife" producer Jeremy Bolt on the Toronto set of the fourth installment and he has confirmed that they are planning to start filming "The Three Musketeers" in September of 2010.
Paul W.S. Anderson will direct the 3D movie, that Bolt described as "unlike anything you've seen." The project, which carries an $80 million budget, will be an action film with romance and will have a contemporary feel. Bolt also said that the Musketeers will be "packing" in terms of weapons which will be indicative of the time it's set in.

"CHARLIE'S ANGELS" COMING BACK TO TV

"Variety" reports that ABC is close to ordering a pilot to a new version of the classic 1970's TV show "Charlie's Angels". Josh Friedman ("The Sarah Connor Chronicles") will write and executive produce the pilot with Sony Pictures TV behind it. Apparently the surprisingly successful recent launch of the "V" reboot at ABC is what inspired the network to start with yet another remake of a classic hit show.
Well, who knows, with good and charismatic casting it could be a success, especially if they find some innovative costume designer who would create stunning and trendy outfits for the girls and make a catwalk out of the show. Of course, they would probably need a fresh dose of humour in the plot and catchy stories.

SF CLASSIC "GATTACA" GETTING ITS TV VERSION?

It seems that Andrew Niccol's sci-fi classic "Gattaca" with Eathan Hawke, Jude Law and Uma Thurman, is really getting its TV version. Writer and producer Gil Grant, who is writing the pilot for the series, has recently spoken to "MTV Movies Blog" about how he is opening up the world of the movie for this new police procedural.
"I came up with a world which is populated with Valids and Invalids, the same premise as the movie, but taken into a police department where we're... integrating, using the analogy of the '60s Civil Rights struggle. Even though it's technically illegal to discriminate against Invalids, just like in the '60s people did. So it's come to pass that the government has ordered the police department to hire their first token Invalid into the detective department. What we're doing is we're taking an Invalid and teaming him up with a Valid, a seasoned officer. You know, it's oil and water."
I like "Gattaca" a lot, so I hope they won't turn it into another boring futuristic conspiracy action TV show. But if they create stunning sets, and come up with an amazing vision of a society set in a distant future, it could be interesting.

SARAH POLLEY AS QUEEN KRISTINA OF SWEDEN

Young Sarah Polley ("Beowulf and Grendel", "Dawn of the Dead")has been given a chance to take the lead role in the epic feature drama "Queen Kristina" about the legendary Queen of Sweden from the 17th century. The film will be directed by acclaimed director Mika Kaurismäki.
Made Queen of Sweden at the age of six after the death of her father Gustav Adolph, young Kristina was dressed as a boy and raised like a prince of the realm (hence the rumors of her later lesbianism). But as a woman, she did not enjoy the glories of warfare, though she did love the male freedom of thought and expression. Central to Kristina's journey as a sovereign, and her choice to ultimately abdicate the throne, was her relationship with the French philosopher Descartes, whose teachings on free will and destiny prompted her to leave the throne. After her abdication she made her way to Rome, where she lived in a palazzo filled with art and books which became a lively center of culture. From there Kristina launched an unsuccessful attempt to become Queen of Naples. Although it made her marginalized in Roman society for some time, the scandal didn't stop Kristina, so she started another failed scheme in attempt to have herself made Queen of Poland.
Kristina's interest in pursuits normally reserved for males, occasional dressing in male attire, and persistent stories about her personal relationships, have led to many disagreements among historians as to the nature of her sexuality. In 1965, her body was exhumed for testing, to see if she had signs of hermaphroditism or intersexuality, but the results were inconclusive.
Queen Kristina will shoot in Canada and Sweden in the fall of 2010.

AMY ADAMS AND MATTHEW GOODE IN "LEAP YEAR"

Here's something that promises to be an adorable little romantic movie, at least judging from the charming poster and the cute combination of Amy Adams ("Julie & Julia") and Matthew Goode ("Watchers") as the main tandem.
In "Leap Year" Adams plays an uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, February 29, following an Irish tradition in which women propose to men on that day and the man has to say yes. When weather derails her trip, she enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper to make an unexpected cross-country trek to pull off the perfect proposal in time.
The movie is set to charm you away in January, 2010.
You can see the adorable trailer over at my official YouTube channel.

FIRST PIC FROM ROMAN EPIC "THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH"

Here's the first exclusive picture of Channing Tatum in a fight scene from the upcoming Roman epic "The Eagle of the Ninth". The $23 million epic is just days away from wrapping up its shooting in Scotland.
As you already know the story revolves around a wounded Roman soldier (Channing Tatum) and his loyal Celtic slave (Jamie Bell) who try to solve the mystery of the Ninth Legion, a brigade of Roman soldiers that vanished after heading into the untamed Highlands of Scotland 15 years earlier.
Stay tuned for some new pics, we'll probably have more quite soon :)

EXCLUSIVE TRAILER FOR "CLASH OF THE TITANS" IS HERE!!!

Just few days ago we've seen the first posters for next year's epic adventure "Clash of the Titans", and now here's the first exclusive trailer. The movie looks awesome, although I must say I kind of miss some special, magical touch in the film's visual presentation to make it more unique and groundbreaking. And I don't like the music in the trailer. Enjoy and tell me what you think.

"THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS" GETTING A TV ADAPTATION

In order to continue with the vampire trend, "Unique Features" and "Constantin Film" have decided to adapt Cassandra Clare’s fantasy books "The Mortal Instruments" and make a TV Show out of it.
"The Mortal Instruments", a successful series of four novels, revolves around teenager Clary Fray’s search for her missing mother, which leads her to a city filled with mysterious fairies, raucous warlocks, vampires and other demons.
With its unique, imaginative and universally appealing world seen through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl the whole series has a huge fan base, so it could make a popular TV project, unless the audience, fed up with vampires and other bloodsucking creatures, turns it into a mega flop :)

RACHEL MCADAMS AS THE BLACK CAT IN SPIDERMAN?

Today's hottest rumor says that Rachel Mc Adams might be getting a role in "Spider man 4". Apparently she has talked with the movie's producers about playing Felicia Hardy a.k.a. The Black Cat. Nothing is official, so McAdams is only the top contender to play the feline villain, who starts out as a small cat burglar in the comic books and develops an obsession with Spider-Man. The movie will probably have two villains.
On the other side of the ocean, another young actress has put her paw on a role in this film. In one of her interviews Romola Garai has revealed that she too is auditioning for a role in "Spiderman 4", but it could me one of the smaller ones. The movie is supposed to be released in May 2011.

FIRST PICS FROM THE SET OF "THE TUDORS'" FINAL SEASON

Here are the first pics from the set of the hit show "The Tudors". The fourth and the final season is currently being shot in Europe with the shooting scheduled to last for six months. The pictures show Henry Cavill, Joely Richardson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. As you can see Cavill and Meyers are portraying king Henry and his best friend sir Charles Brandon in their mature age, while beautiful Joely has joined the cast as king's last wife.
The final season of "The Tudors" will premiere next spring (thanks to SHOWTIME for premiering the show one day before my birthday :))))). Although the fans of the popular show are sad that it will end soon, there's something that can bring them some comfort: the show's creator, ultra talented writer, Michael Hirst is already preparing "Camelot", a new historical television treat, for Showtime.

SERBIAN BEAUTY SASHA ALEXANDER GETS A NEW TV ROLE

It seems that one of Serbia's most beautiful female celebrities, gorgeous Sasha Alexander (real name Suzana Drobnjakovic) has finally found herself a new job after leaving the hit CBS show “NCIS” for reasons known only to her. After a series of insignificant supporting roles in a number of movies, Sasha Alexander is returning to the small screen as Angie Harmon’s partner in TNT’s new female cop show “Rizzoli”. She will play Maura Isles, the Boston medical examiner who usually teams up with Harmon’s Rizzoli to solve crimes. I never watch crime shows, it's just not my cup of tea, but it's nice to see her under the spotlight again. She is also known for marrying Sophia Loren's son and giving Sophia a grandchild few years ago.
If you click on the image above you'll get yourself a hot little wallpaper :)

"2012" GETS ITS OWN TV SHOW CALLED "2013"???

Although his upcoming disaster movie "2012" hasn't even been released yet, it seems that Roland Emmerich is already planning a TV show based on the same story. Here's what he had to say to "Entertainment Weekly" at "2012's" premiere last evening:
"The plan is that it is 2013 and it's about what happens after the disaster. It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. Harold Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon. We said to Mark, 'Why don't you do a TV show that picks up where the movie leaves off and call it 2013?' I think it will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats ... maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving. There are so many possibilities of what they could do and I'd be excited to watch it."
Apparently, the producers see ABC as their possible media target :)
