FIRST PICS FROM "THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER"
The first official pictures from "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" have finally leaked onto the Net. In the first three pictures you can see the helm of the Dawn Treader, then Ben Barnes as king Caspian, and Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensie on the Dawn Treader. The new sequel follows the young Pevensies siblings as they travel with Caspian on a quest around the world in the Dawn Treader. Three years have passed since the events of "Prince Caspian", peace has been established in Narnia, and Caspian has undertaken his oath to Aslan to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia. Directed by Michael Apted ("The World Is Not Enough", "Amazing Grace") the film should be out December 2010.
Thanks for posting these pics and updates....Big Narnia fanatics here at my house....Looking forward to this film even though William and Anna wont be in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I have read the series and knew they were not supposed to return.
ReplyDeleteAlso hoping this new director can live up to Andrew Adamson's standards and special effects.
I am trying to link this post to my site. I hope that is alright with you.
ReplyDeleteThe pics look great; bright and colourful, with that crucial blend of “epic” and “wholesome” Narnia stories absolutely need.
ReplyDeleteDamn. And I still haven't seen first two movies.
ReplyDeleteWait... It's comes December 2010, not this December. :) I guess I still have time.
But first I must find first film in HD (already have HD version of Prince Caspian). Movies like these deserve best viewing experience possible.
Also, Ben Barnes looks weird with beard. Never seen him like that before. But, I guess life of a seafarer would do that to you.
I think they wanted Ben to look older with this beard. The last movie he was supposed to been a youthful prince and now the high king of Narnia. I think the beard makes him favor Orlando Bloom.
ReplyDeleteI've got to say I go with the books on this one...I am a bibliophile and I hate to think that there might be an entire generation that will miss reading them because they have seen the movie - as if that is a substitution.

ReplyDeleteof course you can put a link to this story on your blog :)) I'm also sad that William is not returning.
I actually like how Ben looks like with a beard :) it's very becoming and charming.
Cheer up, Michele :) a lot of kids go for the book after they fall in love with the movie, as a professor, I know hundreds of such examples with LORD OF THE RINGS :)
@ jaccsy
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, it looks quite fairy taleish :)
@Marko
I think you will like the first part. James MCAvoy and Tilda Swinton had quite rememberable roles and you will like Aslan, since you liked the Polar Bear in GOLDEN COMPASS :) I found the story a bit boring at points, but the movie didn't have any visual problems.
Very true DEZMOND, My son and all my nieces and nephews purchased and read the entire Narnia series and Harry Potter series just because of the movies. I had read the Narnia series in school and the movies made me remember how much I enjoyed them as a child.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of William Moseley, did you know that he is going to be in Ironclad?
Good point Dezmond. I hadn't thought of it that way! It's just not the way I did it, so how could it be right? ; )

ReplyDeleteYes, HOLLYWOOD SPY has written two times about IRONCLAD already. You can see the latest story here: http://hollywood-spy.blogspot.com/2009/09/medieval-action-adventure-movie.html

Unfortunately we live in an era of computer games, TV shows and other cheep pastimes, and kids really don't read books anymore, but it was proved many times before that movies such are LOTR, HARRY PLOPPER, ERAGON, NARNIA usually draw children into entering the world of books and reading. Of course ,those books are not literary classics, but they can lure kids into reading something more serious after that.
