PAUL W.S.ANDERSON'S MUSKETEERS WILL BE AN $80 MILLION DOLLAR MOVIE!
"Hollywood Spy" has recently reported that Paul W. S. Anderson is planning his own adaptation of the popular story about the Musketeers. In the latest update, "FirstShowingNet" has talked a few days ago with "Resident Evil:Afterlife" producer Jeremy Bolt on the Toronto set of the fourth installment and he has confirmed that they are planning to start filming "The Three Musketeers" in September of 2010.
Paul W.S. Anderson will direct the 3D movie, that Bolt described as "unlike anything you've seen." The project, which carries an $80 million budget, will be an action film with romance and will have a contemporary feel. Bolt also said that the Musketeers will be "packing" in terms of weapons which will be indicative of the time it's set in.
No director, except maybe Uwe Boll, makes me want to see a movie less than Paul W.S. Anderson.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor old Uwe Boll, he's such an unpopular kid in Tinseltown :))))
ReplyDeleteI cherish the same emotions towards Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan :)
Paul W.S. Anderson never worked on a period film before. And with all that talk about modern and contemporary, I'm not sure if he should even be considering shooting a historic film. Even one such as Three Musketeers.
ReplyDeleteStill, if he messes this one up, we would still have more than enough of decent Musketeer movies. :)
well, you always have to start from something :P
ReplyDeleteAnd, look on the bright side, maybe he'll chose some gorgeous blond to play Lady de Winter :)
Let's hope his start in historic genre is a successful one. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in director's influence that much anyway. :) Script is also very important (to me :)). Not necessarily story, but script itself. I remember Nolan's Batman Begins and its sequel Dark Knight. I liked former, but really disliked latter. Same as with Singer's superhero movies. I liked X-Men 1 and 2, but I didn't like Superman Returns.
I always support a good trashing of DARK KNIGHT :)))
ReplyDeleteHum....Musketeers and Robin Hood, both in 2010, now we just need another King Arthur movie...
ReplyDeleteNo, Avalon, Musketeers will start shooting next year, while Robin will premiere next year :)
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of King Arthur, Showtime is preparing a show CAMELOT which will replace THE TUDORS after they finish their rule next year :)
Like the Tudors, hope Camelot is just as good.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will be even better :)
