The film follows the lives of the famous writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky and his wife Anna during a period that inspired him to write “The Idiot” at the time a commercial flop, but today, considered one of the greatest novels in the history of literature. After the first images released back in December last year, BBC and BritBox have released some new images for their THE OTHER BENNET SISTER which tells the story of Mary Bennet, played by Ella Bruccoleri, the seemingly unremarkable and overlooked middle sister in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Richard E. Grant and Ruth Jonesplay her parents, with Indira Varma and Richard Coyle set as Mr and Mrs Gardiner, Mary’s worldly aunt and uncle. The Gardiners take Mary under their wing as governess to their three children, Marianne (Roisin Bhalla), George (Reggie Absolom), and Rebecca (Jasmine Sharp), introducing her to a new social world that includes Mr Hayward (Donal Finn), Mr Ryder (Laurie Davidson), and Ann Baxter (Varada Sethu). It will have ten half hour episodes and will air sometime in March this year on BBC One in United Kingdom and on BritBox over in Northern America. This science fiction mystery movie tells the story of a fishing vessel that was lost at sea 30 years ago, and mysteriously reappears in the harbour of a fishing village. A mysterious boat returns to a village thirty years after it vanished. Two men join its crew hoping for better fortune. After one voyage, they find themselves transported back in time, mistaken for the original crew. It is out April 24th in UK.

I told you that CBS has ordered a pilot for an unusual period set costume multicamera sitcom REGENCY and now they have revealed that Rhys Darby will take the lead in the comedy series that will be set in early 19th century and follow the upper middle class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal in 19th century England. Darby will lead the series as Arthur Tillbrook, head of the family home, Hartford Park. Arthur is heir to a vast cheese empire but prefers to think of himself as a “guy’s guy.” He will go to great lengths to prove his masculinity, though his privileged upbringing reveals itself every time. This new costume multicamera sitcom is being prepared for the 2026/2027 new television season, which means we will know its destiny this summer - whether it will air in Autumn or Mid Season or not air at all.

Sky has set cast for their mini TV series on the Gucci family GAME OVER with Miriam Leone as Patrizia Reggiani, the former socialite convicted of hiring a hitman to murder her ex-husband played by Francesco Scianna, and Matilda Lutz is Allegra Gucci, the daughter of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani whose memoir the show is based on. The six episode drama will depict the vicissitudes of the iconic family-owned fashion empire, which imploded due to feuding, using multiple timelines. The narrative will be told through the eyes of both Reggiani and her daughter Allegra and will try to reconstruct the truth and identity of Allegra’s family in the timeless drama of a great Italian dynasty that, consumed by the struggle for power, ended up self-destructing.

It was a successful series when it was launched at Hulu as their new Australian original about a year ago and now next week is bringing us the second season of period set series THE ARTFUL DODGER which is scheduled to arrive with new episodes this Tuesday February 10th and will again stream also on Disney Plus. As you know the series reimagines popular characters from Charles Dickens' classic "Oliver Twist" by moving them over to the penal colony of Port Victory, Australia. With Luke Bracey joining the cast as inspector Henry Boxer, Thomas Brodie-Sangster is back as Dr Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger, David Thewlis as Norbert Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. Straight from Russia comes a trailer for their new historical adventure movie BATTLE OF ENGINES (Битва моторов) which will be ready to storm into cinemas October 8th announcing the new cinematic season in theatres. Based on real events from the beginning of the 20th century this new sports drama is dedicated to the glorious history of Russian Russo-Balt automobiles. Beside Russia, parts of the movie were also shot down in Serbia

The movie is out this October in cinemas

 and Montenegro. Ivan Yankovsky plays Andrei Nagel in the film, and Oscar nominee Yura Borisov plays his navigator, Dmitry Bondarev. The cast also includes Paulina Andreeva, Yehezkel Lazarov, and Alexei Guskov. 

 

 WHAT IS THE FILM ABOUT?

 The film is based on real events when Andrei Nagel set off from St. Petersburg on December 31, 1911, on a Russo-Balt train manufactured by the Russo-Baltic Wagon Works to compete in the race to Monte Carlo. This is the story of people who decided to do the impossible — create the first Russian mass-produced automobile. In 1908, car enthusiast Andrei Nagel found support from engineer Dmitry Bondarev. Together, they assembled a team of like-minded individuals and began developing the Russo-Balt automobile. When the project is threatened, Nagel makes a risky decision to prove their car's viability at the prestigious Monaco Rally. This move could spell the end of the Russo-Balt project...
