Netflix has released a trailer for their new World War 2 set movie drama THE MOSQUITO BOWL which will first hit cinemas October 30th and then be available for streaming as well from November 25th with the cast led by Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård under the helm of director Peter Berg. 

 WHAT IS THE FILM ABOUT?

Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America’s top college football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the Marines. As they prepare for the brutal invasion of Okinawa, they’ll play in a legendary game featuring some of the greatest players in history — a game that, for many, will be the last they ever play. Hulu has released a trailer for the second part of the second season of their RIVALS series which will continue season two with six more episodes from November 11th! Picking up after the gut-wrenching mid-series finale, Tony Baddingham and Declan O’Hara’s battle for the Cotswolds crown reaches fever pitch, while Rupert Campbell-Black is forced to confront his own personal demons. Against a backdrop of hedonistic parties, Bonfire Night chaos, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and a turbulent Christmas, affairs unravel, alliances fracture and rivalries intensify. Caught in the middle of the frenzied franchise war, Taggie O’Hara must find the courage to follow her heart, while those around her face the consequences of ambition, power and secrets that can no longer remain hidden. We still do not have a trailer but we do have the first images from new epic adventure series TREASURE ISLAND which will sail onto MGM+ on October 11th and then to Paramount + for viewers in Europe the next day. The six part small screen adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic seafaring tale has a rather, I must admit, boring cast which includes Hayley Atwell as Bess Hawkins, always wooden David Oyelowo as Long John Silver, Tom Sweet as Jim Hawkins, Jack Huston as Aaron Graham, and Tomer Capone as Billy Bones. Stay tuned for the trailer, it is probably arriving soon.

A trailer has been released for a big screen adaptation of Nicolas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan supernatural thriller book REMAIN which will be out next Valentines Day starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor. In the new movie, Gyllenhaal stars as reclusive New York architect who heads to Cape Cod to design a summer home for his best friend, seeking a fresh start after being treated for acute depression. Still mourning his sister's death, he meets a young woman who disrupts his carefully ordered world. While staying at a historic B&B, he starts to fall for this mysterious woman who makes him question his rational beliefs about life and loss.

Channel 5 has, back in January announced a mini TV series adaptation of Graham Norton's book FOREVER HOME and the cast which includes tons of British small screen names such as Amy Nuttall, Douglas Henshall, Denise Welch, Kevin Whately, Samantha Bond, Lewis Cope, Jenny Walser, Shane Zaza and James Baxter, and now we finally have the trailer and Monday, September 14th starting date for it!

The series started airing this August

 the 879th anniversary of the capital is 12 part historical saga THE MASTER OF MOSCOW (Хозяин Москвы) depicting the fate of people against the background of the greatest catastrophe of the XIX century. The series covers the period from 1811 to 1823 - from peaceful life on the eve of the Patriotic War of 1812 to the restoration of the burned capital. Three families – the nobles of Lebedev, the merchants of the Klykovs and the serfs of Nikishina – are on the verge of changes that will forever change their lives. THE KULIKOVO BATTLE EPIC TV SERIES

We also have first images from ambitious Russian historical series KULIKOVO BATTLE (Поле Куликово) which will show us duty, love and fate of people who were at the center of one of the greatest battles in the history of Russia. The main roles are played by Igor Stepashin and Serbian actress Tina Stojilkovic next to Anton Rogachev, Anna Bogomolov, Andrey Maximov, Kirill Käro, Ivan Fomino. The story follows Prince Mikhail who in the confrontation with Mamay, the leader of the Golden Horde, loses everything: the family, love and the meaning of life. In desperate search for retribution, he finds his true duty in helping in the unification of Russia. The audience can expect a drama about human courage, which has reached its climax in one of the greatest battles in history. The emotional center of the project will be the story of Michael and Olga, the wife of his dead brother. Having experienced the loss of loved ones, the captivity and the destruction of the native city, the heroes will have to pass through heavy tests and find in their grief the power to live further. The series will air on Kion online cinema.

  THE FILM

follows Marfa and Nastya who are half-sisters and best friends, and they cope not only with their grumpy mother, but also with ancient magic, because of which winter has not come in their village for many decades. In the famous fairy tale step mother hates her step daughter and banishes her to the woods in the middle of the winter where she selflessly saves Morozko and is then covered in gold and fortune by him to much chagrin of her step mother. By the end of the movie the girls manage to overcome all obstacles, drive away the evil witch, melt Morozko’s heart, and also find love. See the trailer below:

Netflix has revealed a trailer and the September 25th streaming date for their new Spanish language period set series THE FINAL PROBLEM based on the bestselling novel of the same name by acclaimed Spanish author Arturo Pérez-Reverte. This new five episode mini series blends thriller and mystery in an immersive period setting starring Jose Coronado, María Valverde, Martiño Rivas, Maribel Verdú, Gonzalo de Castro, Cristina Kovani, José Condessa  and Pepón Nieto. You can also check out the character posters which I posted in our previous article on this drama last year.  This is not the only new period set series coming to the streamer from Espagna, as sometime later this year we can also expect their Lobo medieval series.

Channel 5 has released a trailer for the seventh season of their most popular series ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL which will return September 17th following the village vets right after the World War II. The story of the new season picks up in 1946, with the war behind them and Skeldale House once again full – and livelier than ever – as familiar faces reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter. James(Nicholas Ralph) is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo. The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike. Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot and Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon will be joined by Caolan McCarthy as the new rival vet, Granville Bennett.  by Irish company Great Island which will make an eight part series out of it. The second part of the book should be released this November.

BBC One has released first trailer for their new feature length drama ONWARD AND SIDEWAYS which stars Laura Linney and Rhys Ifans in a touching story about two people with lots in common - a great sense of humour, a love of dance, and Parkinson’s. Rhys plays Tony Evans, the deputy head of a local primary school. Laura stars as Emma Dretzin, a pianist, composer and single mother of two daughters. Neither knows the other until a startling encounter changes the course of their lives: on the same morning, they are both confronted with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. This film is their story - a friendship which unfolds unexpectedly. A story of humour and emotion, of challenge and courage, of music and dance - transcending the assumptions of a little understood condition, and triumphing over the odds to find joy, release and love. Joining Laura and Rhys are Monica Dolan, Rory Kinnear and Paul Mayhew-Archer.
