SEE SAM CLAFLIN IN THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO NEW TV SERIES ADAPTATION! GAL GADOT SAYS HER CLEOPATRA WILL BE MORE THAN JUST HISTORY'S MOST FAMOUS SEDUCTRESS!

 1ST LOOK AT SAM CLAFLIN
AS COUNT MONTE CRISTO
Now, here is a totally secretive project, so secretive that we have not even heard about it before today even though we are the biggest fans of Sam Claflin. Digital Spy has found first set pic of him in new period set series THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO which is currently filming for unknown broadcaster in an Italian British co-production. French actress Ana Girardot is also filming with him in Paris. The project should not be confused with French movie Le Comte de Monte Cristo with Pierre Niney, which is out next year.

 GAL GADOT'S CLEOPATRA
IS STILL VERY MUCH ON
At least that is what Gal Gadot said in a recent interview. It does not have a premiere date nor the start of production one, but we know that new CLEOPATRA will
The movie does not have a launch date yet
be directed by Kari Skogland with Laeta Kalogridis writing the script and Cleopatra being shown as not just a seductress. She was the daughter of Ptolemy, ancestor of the leader of Alexander the Great’s army. When Rome’s ruler Julius Caesar’s mentor and rival Pompey fled to Egypt after a brutal war for control of the empire, Egypt became a fixation of Roman rulers. Two siblings battled for the throne of Egypt. After winning that internal struggle by appealing personally to Caesar, Cleopatra had a complicated relationship with Rome, becoming the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony. The latter alliance would become the undoing of both Antony and Cleopatra. Gadot, who is producing the movie, said she wants to celebrate the legacy of Cleopatra and honor this amazing historic icon!

  1. I think Gal will make a lovely Cleopatra! So much better than that crap Jada and Netflix are trying to push at us with a black Cleopatra.

    1. That one flopped real hard, it had terrible ratings.

    2. Rightfully so. I believe Egypt is/was suing them for the portrayal since Cleopatra was definitely not black. They are ticked Jada/Netflix is trying to change their history. Maybe if more of these production companies got sued for pulling that crap, it would finally stop.

    3. Egypt is preparing their own documentary on it.It is the same shit as Queen Charlotte, who was not black, but they keep pushing that narrative that she was and people are swallowing it.

  2. I was agreeably surprised by the first Wonder Woman film with Gal Gadot. Was historical Cleopatra actually very beautiful though? Not that I am opposed to personable actors and actresses playing leading roles as long as they have acting talent. The last depiction of Antonius and Cleopatra was in the BBC/HBO series Rome. Lyndsey Marshal who played Cleopatra in that series is a decent actress but her performance reminded me a bit of Amanda Barrie in the 1964 'Carry on Cleo'. Most people posting here are younger than me so I'll mention that the 'Carry On' films were a British series of comedies, probably dated now though I did like some of them when I was younger. In the early 1960s there was a Cleopatra film with Elizabeth Taylor so the 1964 'Carry on Cleo' may have been poking fun at that (not nastily).

    1. As far as I know she was mildly fugly leaning towards mediocre, but supposedly had a charm about her and powerful seductive charisma. I found the actress in Rome lacking in that charisma. There were other series about her in last twenty years, but nothing special or well made. She was played by Monica Beluci and Marion Cotillard in Asterix and Obelix movies too.

  3. I recently saw a film from roughly a decade ago on YouTube featuring Sam Clafin as one of the Manchester United footballers who lost their lives in the 1958 Munich air crash (though I don't know if that event is known much outside the UK). His wasn't the biggest part in the film but he acquitted himself well. He could carry off being The Count of Monte Cristo. Will he play the character right through the story or is there another actor playing pre-prison Edmond? I'm a bit rusty on this but isn't pre-prison Edmond just a teenager.

    1. We have absolutely no other info on this project, it isn't mentioned anywhere on the internet, not even on IMDB, so these images are the only things we have so far. Claflin is a most amazing actor, one of my faves, I just love how he steals the screen with his magnetic warmth and emotional expressions, he is what a call a true actor, not this stony faced brats of today's Hollywood. Love him heaps, wish he would get more work.
