SEE THE ENCHANTING TRAILER FOR RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE MOVIE ADVENTURE AT THE PIKE'S BEHEST!

  AT THE PIKE'S BEHEST
RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE MOVIE
Straight from mother Russia  comes an enchanting first trailer for their fantasy adventure AT THE PIKE'S BEHEST, a big screen adaptation of the famous fairy tale coming from the same producers and team that brought us Upon the Magic Roads movie adaptation of legendary Russian tale The Little Humpback Horse a few years ago. With Nikita Kologrivy in the lead role, AT THE PIKE'S BEHEST  (По щучьему велению) will arrive to Russian cinemas October 26th launching the Autumn season.

WHAT IS THE STORY?
If you go fishing, be prepared to draw the fish of your dreams, the magical Pike, which can grant any three wishes. The main character is a resident of the magical world called Emelya (Nikita Kologrivy). One day, he caught a Pike that could grant him three wishes. He immediately spent the first two on trifles, and decided to save the third. Intending to get the hand of Princess Anfisa (Alina Alekseeva), Emelya went to the royal court, where he was given a strict condition: he could marry Anfisa only when he fulfills the most difficult tasks that would require him to show true strength, courage and ingenuity. And if the hero does not cope with them, then he will immediately lose his head. Emelya agrees to the tests and, in the company of Pike, who turned into an ordinary girl Vasilisa (Mila Ershova), goes on a long journey to find a self-assembled tablecloth, meet cat called Bayun and visit the dark kingdom of Koshchei.

  2. Russia has the best fairy tale movies. This one looks so cute. I'd watch it even without subtitles.

    1. I think you can find Upon the Magic Roads or Konyek Gorbunok in English, I watched it and loved it, it was visually above anything Hollywood makes and the humpback horse was the cutest.

    2. Hollywood only knows how to recycle boring crap. Have they had anything cute or visually appealing lately?

  3. When I was but a lass (and I won't see 70 again) the Beeb used to show some short cartoons of fairy tales (Polish made I think). I quite liked them - they weren't dubbed but had an English narrator doing a voiceover of the story(ies).

    1. Yes, those were the legendary famous Russian animated fairy tales, nobody makes them as they do, we had enchanting childhoods thanks to their beauty and messages.

  4. It wasn't a cartoon and was I think East German (when there were two Germanies) but some children found 'The Singing Ringing Tree' a bit frightening https://366weirdmovies.com/155-the-singing-ringing-tree-1957/
