1ST MATILDA DE ANGELIS PHOTO
I'm bringing you a very special treat today: updates on some of the European costume drama that we can expect in the future, beginning with the first
First look at Matilda de Angelis as Lidia Poet
photo of Leonardo's Matilda de Angelis in her new Netflix series LIDIA POET. It is from the set, so not of best quality but it gives you an idea of the costumes she will be wearing in it. Matilda, whom you remember from HBO's The Undoing series and Aidan Turner's Leonardo, leads this new Italian Netflix procedural series which reconstructs the true story of the Italian woman who in late 19th century Turin fought a legal battle to be allowed to practice as a lawyer after she was forbidden to do so by a court order. Then in 1883, after the legal battle, she became Italy’s first female lawyer. Romulus helmer Matteo Rovere is directing. Stay tuned for more info on the series as we get new updates.

  BRIGANTI TV SERIES

On this path she will meet two women, Michelina (Matilda

  1. They all sound very good, but I wonder where to see them. I checked April's schedule in the Euro TV Place and not a single foreign period piece will be seen in USA. it's unnerving, because there is so much out there.

    1. The first two will arrive next year to Netflix, the last one will probably remain elusive to us.

    2. Oh Dear, I'm reading so fast I miss words. Netflix? Then they won't be any good. Sorry, but I'm on my way to say farewell to that streaming trashcan

    3. Yes, you remember that I announced all of these last year when Netflix ordered a number of Italian originals. They also ordered last week a rather big number of French and Spanish originals, but nothing period set among them, I'm afraid. I think that we should use your secret millions and open our own period set streamer LOL and produce our own costume dramas for the world LOL I know you want it...

    4. You know I do, but unless I win the lottery…Send me good vibes. Watching the first episodes of Julia, I realized the pleasure that you can derive from having money to fulfill your dreams (and those of others as well.)

    5. I was thinking about them secret family millions that you have stashed somewhere in some Chilean mansion :)
I downloaded Julia today, will watch next week, probably on Thursday nights as I just finished Invasion, which was the most boring show ever.

    6. Sorty about nvadio, but it didn't sound so fascinating. HBO Max has 3 episodes of Julia to stream. I don't know when will they air the rest. By the way, all I had left in Chile was a stash of debts.

    7. Julia will continue airing one episode per week in the upcoming weeks.

Oy, so we cannot show our faces down in Chile! Mios dios! We might have to escape to Chile, though, as we have elections here today and if dictator wins again, and he plans to rob votes like he did the last time, I will have to run away or just live under the bridge with no TV or net to bother me.

    8. Well, we'll be refugees in Chile then. But I rather stay here, we can get free WiFi at Starbuck's, so we sleep under a bridge and we pend the day panhandling in Starbuck's. It's a plan. Praying the best win in your elections.

    9. He rigged the vote again even though there were lines of people waiting to vote for hours everywhere. Waiting now to see whether the opposition will lead us into a war against him or we'll just swallow the shit and live in shit again. One of the opposition leaders even got beaten at the voting place. He usually steals about half a million or more votes on elections either by using dead people's votes, by bringing whole trains of people from Bulgaria and Republik of Srpska to vote for him, by manipulating with pensioners who are here stupid as sin etc.

    10. I’m sorry. You know I hesitate to talk politics in public places, but I’m a bit confused. Today I read an article at the NYT about the Serbian election, and they painted a non-flattering image of this person (Let’s call him Al. V.). however, the article said that Al V.’s govt. was pro Russia, which you are, and that it was behind a libelous propaganda campaign designed to excuse the invasion of Ukraine. And again, you were/are pro invasion. That’s what confused me.
I understand why Orban triumphed in Hungary, but what keeps your Al V. in power? Who supports him? More important, who finances him?

    11. He constantly plays between EU, Putin and China, and has sold most of the land and factories to some of those, most usually to China.
I'm not directly pro invasion, I just understand it's reasons. I never support war as I survived one too many myself. I'm just aware that any other country would have done the same if they found themselves in Russia's position faced with Ukraine joining NATO and building NATO army bases with missiles being able to hit Moscow in under four minutes. Imagine if Cuba did that to USA. Not to mention the eight years of atrocities Ukraine has been committing to the Russian people in Donjeck and Lugansk.

What keeps AV in power are many reasons. He owns all media with national frequency and all but two daily papers and uses them to demonise opposition or to totally exclude them. Old people who do not use internet know nothing about the opposition and accept everything he tells them even though he constantly robs them of money. Old people and uneducated people are his main voters. He is also supported by most of the foreign powers as he sells them what they want, this is what they keep quiet to his atrocities and crime in the country. He even owns the public prosecutor who never prosecutes him and his party members even with tons of shocking proof of their insane criminal activity. He pumps money out of national firms and uses it to sponsor his media which then glorifies him and trashes the opposition. And our people, the same as yours, are predominantly stupid, that is why you have the rule of crime in South America as well. He is also extremely manipulative.
He also steals votes, I believe he stole hundreds of thousands of votes in these elections. The only way to throw him down is when the West decides and that could last for a very long time because he gives them everything they want.

  2. We do love the Italians. I think they are some of the most beautiful people in the world. They definitely know their way around fashion, so I'll be looking forward to more pictures of the costumes that we'll see in Lidia Poet.
