Netflix has finally announced that July 15th will be the launch date for their new movie adaptation of Jane Austen's PERSUASION and they've celebrated that with a couple of new photos from the costume drama starring Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliot, Cosmo Jarvis as Captain Wentworth and Henry Golding as Mr Elliot, with Richard E. Grant also in the cast.Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne Elliot is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities. PERSUASION was the last novel that Austen managed to finish before she kicked the bucket. If you remember, Sanditon, airing currently in its second season on PBS Masterpiece with not much success, is based on an Austen book which she did not managed to finish.

The shooting, which started last Autumn and will last till May, will cover Louvre Palace, the Castles of Fontainebleau and Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Fort la Latte and Chantilly, as well as the citadel of Saint-Malo. After these 60 million euro worth two movies, Alexandre de la Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte will continue to explore the work of the famous French author as the duo is also preparing a new adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo.

The film, which arrives to theatres July 12st this summer, is based on the book of the same name by Suzanne Allain and the cast is rounded out by Oliver Jackson-Cohen as the sociable Lord Cassidy; Ashley Park as the bubbly Gertie Covington, and Theo James as the debonair Captain Henry Ossory! There is also an American action thriller movie THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME which should get a release sometime later this year starring action stars from the previous decades Casper Van Dien, Tom Berenger, Bruce Dern and Judd Nelson alongside Christopher Tamburello in the lead role. The movie is both directed and written by Justin Lee. Here is the official plot and also a rather well done poster: A father and son are shipwrecked on a remote island where they are caught up in a trophy hunt held by its mysterious owner, a merciless man who uses the land as an elite hunting preserve for stalking the most dangerous game of all: human.

I think we actually had one or two historical movies coming from Mongolia before here at the spy's but here is another one: THE WRESTLING PRINCESS also known as Princess Khutulun should be completed according to my humble knowledge (it is not like I have actual spies over in Mongolia) sometime later this year, but we, believe it or not, already have a rather nice trailer for this historical action adventure movie. It is a feature film based on the true story of the legendary Princess Khutulun of Mongolia, known in history as the “wrestling princess”, a descendant of Genghis Khaan. You probably remember princess Khutulun from Marco Polo epic series which streamed on Netflix last decade.
