DeleteCBS drama's not an original concept. We've got 'Ahzivland' - the republic of Eli Avivi. It's a piece of land between the city of Naharya and the Lebanese border. It was established in 1971 by a sailor, Eli Avivi (he died last year).It had a flag, anthem, passports. At first the authorities put him in jail, then, they turned the whole thing (a micronation, it's called) into a touristic attraction.
ReplyDeleteI think that there are quite a few towns and villages like that around the world. For example, a rich man has proclaimed his estate here in my city Republic of old Yugoslavia and people really gather there with nostalgia towards our old country.
