While we're waiting for Carnival Films' Jamestown epic series final season to air, first cast for their new epic saga BELGRAVIA has been announced! In the ITV and Epix period set series based on Julian Fellowes novel the cast will be led by Alice Eve (as Susan Trenchard, the beautiful daughter of a successful merchant), Tamsin Greig (as Anne Trenchard), Philip Glenister (as businessman James Trenchard) and Harriet Walter (as the Countess of Brockenhurst)!

BELGRAVIA 
 is a tale of secrets and scandals set in 1840s London when the upper echelons of society began to rub shoulders with the emerging industrial nouveau riche. But the story begins on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, when the Duchess of Richmond throws a party in Brussels for the Duke of Wellington. Among the guests are James and Anne Trenchard, who are living on the profits of new found trading success. Their young daughter Sophia has caught the eye of Edmund Bellasis, the son and heir of one of the richest and most prominent families in
Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister and Harriet Walter have joined the cast
England. Twenty five years later, when the two families are settled into the newly developed area of Belgravia, the events of the ball, and the secrets, still resonate.

  1. It's the third time, I think, that you write about Belgravia, and each time you mention Waterloo it brings back memories to me.

    I visited the place many years ago. We had to climb to the top of a hill, and I was not adequately dressed. I was wearing a skirt, and Alas, I "provided a view" to those in line after me. Nothing to be ashamed of; I was young with nice legs, but since then I don't wear skirts on trips like that any more; usually long pants.

      I imagine the place of the battlefield still carries the grim atmosphere :(

  4. Is it me, or does Alice Eve look like Tiger Wood's Swedish ex-wife? Beautiful lady that will undoubtedly look great in the role.
