 Oh, my, now this is certainly a super exciting piece of news: if you miss all the passion and intrigues in the period set epic series THE TUDORS, you will be thrilled to hear that Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been offered the lead role in NBC's and Sky Living's DRACULA series,  which will have ten episodes. According to "Deadline", DRACULA, which was bought by NBC in January, is set in the 1890s and has been described as "Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors". It follows the iconic vampire as he arrives in London seeking vengeance against those who wronged him hundreds of years ago, all the time pretending to be an American entrepreneur extolling the virtues of modern science. However, his plans go awry when he falls in love with a woman who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES

Speaking of TV news,  Channing Tatum's wife, gorgeous Jenna Dewan Tatum has joined the second season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY FX series,in which she will play a love couple together with MAROON 5's Adam Levine.

Meanwhile, BROTHERS AND SISTERS actor Luke MacFarlane has joined NBC's Fall fantasy drama BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. According to "Digital Spy", MacFarlane, who is also known as the secret boyfriend of Wentworth Miller, will appear in the second episode as Philippe Bertrand, artistic director of a ballet company which Kristin Kreuk will investigate after a ballerina gets killed. Starring also Jay Ryan as the Beast, the show will air this October. ABC hit show ONCE UPON A TIME has cast TEEN WOLF star Sinqua Walls as Sir Lancelot in the second season. The character - portrayed as a "sword for hire" banished from his proud position on King Arthur's Round Table - will appear in at least two episodes.You already know that Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger)

  and Mulan (Jamie Chung) will also appear in the second season alongside Captain Hook, Ariel and Aladin. But he's not the only one, since PRETTY LITTLE LIARS' gorgeous Julian Morris has been added as Sleeping Beauty's Prince Phillip, a man who’s traveled from a kingdom that’s in decline, a young, skilled warrior and selfless hero who’s the veteran of many tough journeys.

Set in World War I, the story of PARADE'S END will follow a top civil servant from a background of wealth and privilege, whose marriage founders almost as soon as it begins. His wife Sylvia (Rebecca Hall) has affairs, while he falls in love with another

woman, but he remains honourable for some considerable time to Sylvia. He goes to war and even loses memory at the battlefield. The mini series will follow ten years of his life.

SEAN BEAN, COLIN FARRELL, SAOIRSE RONAN, BURAK OZCIVIT, KENAN IMIRZALIOGLU IN IRISH TURKISH EPIC "FAMINE" ON FAMOUS 19TH CENTURY FAMINE IN IRELAND

Interesting news come from Turkey: beside the hot gossip on Brad Pitt being offered $2 million to play a European general fighting against sultan Suleyman in THE MAGNIFICENT CENTURY, the most popular historical TV saga around The Balkans in recent few years, there's also some info on FAMINE,  a joint Irish Turkish film production which would depict the story of the Ottoman Empire’s aid to Ireland during the great famine period in Ireland between 1845 and 1851. Sean Bean, Saoirse Ronan and Colin Farrell are possible cast members in the story of how the Ottoman Empire sent aid to the emerald isle in Ireland at great potato

famine in 1845 which claimed nearly 1 million lives. The production should start this Autumn and will also include some Turkish stars Burak Özçivit (he's currently hiding from the Turkish public after his girlfriend recently caught him naked in bed with his best male friend) and Kenan İmirzalıoğlu. According to "The Irish Sun", FAMINE plot will focus on a love story between Fatih (Burak), an Ottoman sailor, and Mary (Saoirse), an Irish girl, during the Great famine and the period when Ottoman’s aid to Ireland arrived. Turkish star Kenan İmirzalıoğlu would play Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid.

STORY FROM HISTORY

 The whole idea begun when one of the producers of the film noticed the northwestern Irish city of Drogheda’s coat of arms included a crescent and star. The Irish famine first began in 1845 due to blight on Ireland’s main source of food — the potato, and lasted until 1851, resulting in the deaths of a million people and the immigration of more than 2 million citizens. Ultimately, the famine caused Ireland’s population to drop from 8 million to 5 million. According to "National Turk" Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid decided to send 10,000 pounds in aid to Ireland after being informed of how devastating the famine was on the island (some claim it was just a Turkish attempt to soften their image of barbaric invaders since in that part of history they had half of southern Europe enslaved under their tyrannical rule). However, Britain’s Queen Victoria decided to 

accept only a thousand pounds in aid. In response, Sultan Abdülmecid secretly sent five ships full of food, as well as cash, to Ireland in order to help the Irish, who were shunned by England. Because the Ottoman ships could not approach Dublin’s port after their long journey to ıreland, they changed their course, bringing their food instead to the lovely seaside town of Drogheda. The Irish town of Drogheda had adopted the Star & Crescent as their emblem in gratitude to the people of Ottoman Empire. With this generous act the Ottoman Empire gained the appreciation of the local public.

Saoirse Ronan will star in another epic project - TESTAMENT OF YOUTH, in which a British woman recalls coming of age during World War I.Colin Farrell will also have another epic project in the future - WINTER'S TALE, enchanting fantasy story set in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan which revolves around a thief, a dying girl, and a flying white horse.

Since it has been a very slow week in the film news world, I will entertain you today with a stunning new photo for Lady Gaga's new perfume: it shows her naked body covered with spiders, but if you take a closer look you will see the spiders are actually little naked men ;) According to Mother Monster herself, the perfume, titled FAME,

 will smell "like an expensive hooker". She says, that's the smell you get after having sex. Amused? Not? Wanna have those spiders crawl over you after spraying the perfume upon your body? Gaga will also have her first film role soon in Robert Rodriguez's MACHETE KILLS in which she plays seductive vixen La Chameleon.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES

The Hollywood Reporter writes today that Ridley Scott is going to produce THE DAY BRITAIN STOPPED in which the script is based on the 2003

BBC pseudo documentary of the same name, that followed a fake disaster which leads to a complete breakdown of England's transportation system. If you read HOLLYWOOD SPY's reports on the new shows coming up this Autumn, you will probably remember that a similar show awaits us as well titled REVOLUTION - it will follow a bunch of survivors of a strange apocalypse in which the Earth lost all energy sources within a second. Meanwhile, young Kevin Zegers has joined the movie adaptation of fantasy saga THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS in which Lily Collins plays Clary Fray a young woman living in New York City who discovers she comes from a long line of demon hunters. Zegers will play her enemy, a homosexual boy who is secretly in love with Clary's love interest. Kevin Durand and GAME OF THRONES Lena Headey are also in the cast. 

CHASING MAVERICKS CLIP

Today's clip at HOLLYWOOD SPY is for  director Curtis Hanson's biopic on surfing legend Jay Moriarty (Jonny Weston) CHASING 

MAVERICKS. The movie is set for release this October, and also stars Gerard Butler. The Scottish hunk appears in the film as Frosty Hesson, Moriarty's mentor who teaches the surfer how to break the massive Northern California swells known as The Maverick. What begins as a mentorship turns into a unique lifelong bond, as the two unlikely friends discover that there is nothing more powerful than pushing your limits and chasing a nearly impossible dream.Previously titled OF MEN AND MAVERICKS, the movie caught media attention earlier this year when Gerard Butler almost died after being swallowed by a huge wave during the shooting down in Australia.

SPRAWLING TRAILER FOR SF EPIC "CLOUD ATLAS" WITH TOM HANKS, BEN WHISHAW, JIM STURGESS, HUGO WEAVING, BY MATRIX HELMERS! SF NOVEL "TIME AND AGAIN" GETS A FILM ADAPTATION!

According to "Variety" Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) will direct the movie adaptation of TIME AND AGAIN, an illustrated novel by Jack Finney. The story follows Manhattan illustrator Simon Morley, who partakes in a secret government experiment in the mid 20th century. The experiment transports him back to 1882 New York, where he falls in love and struggles with the decision to either go back to his original time or stay in the past with his lover. The novel has been sold in more than 200,000 copies and also has a sequel titled FROM TIME TO TIME.

CLOUD ATLAS TRAILER

And here it is, people, the clip of the day - a trailer for sf epic CLOUD ATLAS coming from the directors of the famous THE MATRIX TRILOGY  Lana and Andy WachowskI and Tom Tykwer (RUN LOLA RUN, PERFUME). The rather long and emotional trailer,

 filled with lots of strange, but lovely visuals, settings and scenes, reveals a lot of the extremely complicated story which spans six storylines set at various points in time from the 19th century into the distant future. The

cast is also rather strangely combined with Tom Hanks and wimpy Halle Berry in the lead roles (not sure I can take such an extreme doze of the two of them), joined by Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Ben Whishaw, Keith David, Jim Broadbent, James D'Arcy....

Based on a bestselling book by David Mitchell, the intricate and complex movie features six intertwining story lines set in different

 times and places that become intricately related to each other, with actors playing roles in each time. The stories span from the 19th Century

to a post apocalyptic 22nd Century. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire

 a revolution in the distant future. Even though the budget of the film was around $100 million the film has had almost no marketing so far, although the premiere is scheduled for this October. Hope Warner won't take down the clip before you see it.

Since fantasy is very trendy as a genre for TV shows, one of the new ones will be SLEEPY HOLLOW. Famous producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are working on the new show on the famous legend but the series

 would apparently be set in the modern day, with Ichabod Crane partnering Sleepy Hollow's female sheriff to solve mysterious happenings in the town. Kate Beckinsale's husband and TOTAL RECALL director Len Wiseman is already attached to helm the pilot. A poster has been released for ME AND MY SHADOW. Dreamworks' animated flick, scheduled for August 2014, which tells the story of Shadow Stan, an extremely frustrated shadow who yearns for a dynamic life but happens to be stuck with Stanley Grubb, the world's most boring human. Finally pushed to the brink, Shadow Stan breaks the singular rule of the Shadow World – They lead, we follow – and takes control of Stanley!

As you know the casting for the third season of HBO's epic show GAME OF THRONES is moving on full speed currently and two new faces to join the cast include the singer of popular British band Snow Patrol Gary Lightbody who will do a cameo in one of the future episodes according to "Digital Spy". It is interesting that he already shot his scene for the show. Another new actor spotted around the cast, who are shooting in Ireland, is young Iwan Rheon from MISFITS, who, according to "Winter is Coming" will play “Boy” or Ramsay Snow, the bastard of Roose Bolton. The Bastard of Bolton was mentioned a few times last season, but never shown. He was sent by Robb Stark and

 Roose to reclaim Winterfell from the evil Theon Greyjoy.

HOLLY WOOD SPY HEAD LINES

As "Variety" reports today, Sam Worthington has entered talks to join Arnold Schwarzenegger's action flick TEN which means that the two Terminators might end up playing together in a  testosterone heavy riff on Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians," in which the story will follow an elite DEA task force that robs a dangerous drug cartel under the guise of a tactical raid on one of its safe houses. They think they've gotten away with millions in merch, until team members begin getting bumped off one by on. Meanwhile, gorgeous American Idol Jordin Sparks, the owner of numerous worldwide hits, will join another ex Idol Jennifer Hudson and Anthony Mackie in THE INEVITABLE DEFEAT OF MISTER AND PETE,  a story of two inner city youths who must learn to survive alone after their mothers are taken away by the authorities.

BATTLE OF THE YEAR

The only trailer I have for you today, after a slow weekend, is for a dance movie BATTLE OF THE YEAR which kinda reminds me of MTV's super popular project America's Best Dance Crew.

LOST star Josh Holloway (who looks rather unusual in this type of film) and one of the best singers and dancers in today's R'n'B world brilliant Chris Brown lead the cast  in the story based on the annual

 international b-boying tournament of the same name. The story revolves around the American team of breakdancers, who have not won the event for 15 years. Los Angeles hip-hop mogul B-Boy Dante (Laz 

Alonso) hires former basketball coach Blake (Holloway) to lead the team. Blake brings 12 dancers together (including Chris Brown's character) to form a team in order to take the trophy back to the US. The film is out next January.

TAYLOR KITSCH HAS "NEED FOR SPEED"! "BACHELORETTE" TRAILER WITH KIRSTEN DUNST, JAMES MARSDEN! GWYNETH PALTROW IN "BLOOD, BONES & BUTTER"! JACKIE EARLE HALEY JOINS HUGH LAURIE, JOEL KINNAMAN IN "ROBOCOP"

According to "MovieWeb" one of the breakthrough stars of the year, handsome fella Taylor Kitsch from JOHN CARTER, SAVAGES and BATTLESHIP, is the

main candidate for the lead role in NEED FOR SPEED, a "Dreamworks" project on the film adaptation of the famous video game which might be done similar to FAST AND  FURIOUS franchise with tones of action and fast cars. ACT OF VALOUR director Scott Waugh is helming the movie. Meanwhile, Jackie Earle Haley has joined ROBOCOP remake, as Maddox, who gives the crime-fighting cyborg (Joel Kinnaman) military training before RoboCop goes out to clean up the mean streets of Detroit. The film, which will be set in year 2029, might also add young Jay Baruchel to the cast which also includes Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish and Hugh Laurie as the villain.

Another piece of movie news this weekend came from "The Hollywood Reporter": Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently in talks to join BLOOD, BONES AND BUTTER the movie adaptation of Gabrielle Hamilton's memoirs. The book follows her journey from an unorthodox childhood to becoming a chef and owner of New York's Prune restaurant. She is the youngest of five children, whose artistic father made the sets for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. It is interesting that Gwyneth herself is famous for her vegetarian diet and she even wrote a cookbook last year.

BACHELORETTE TRAILER

Your trailer for today, people, is for raunchy comedy BACHELORETTE which hits cinemas later this year starring

 James Marsden, Lizzy Caplan, Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Adam Scott and Rebel Wilson. The story of the hilarious comedy follows the misadventures of a soon- to-be bride who has a tumultuous bachelorette party, causing her to reconsider whether she is fit for married life. Rebel Wilson plays the unwitting bride to three unengaged bridesmaids (Lizzy Caplan, Kirsten Dunst, and Isla Fisher) who want to do her nothing but harm, but that's what happens when you are asked to be bridesmaid at a wedding of a woman you used to ridicule back in high school.

The budget of the film is somewhere around $175. million! Darren Aronofsky and Ben Affleck were the first choices for the helmer of 

the film before Zack Snyder took over the job by quitting the director's job on 300 prequel BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA. The list of actresses who were in the run for Lois Lane part before Amy Adams took it includes Anne Hathaway, Dianna Agron, Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde, Jessica Biel, Malin Akerman.... The list of the handsome actors who were in the run for the Superman role before Henry Cavill took it is even longer and includes Matthew Goode who worked with the director on WATCHMEN, TRUE BLOOD hunk Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Armie Hammer and even Zac Efron.

Julianne Moore and Jodie Foster were in the run for Martha Kent role. For a very long time Viggo Mortensen was planned for the role of General Zod. Henry Cavill will be the first British actor to play Superman in history.

DANIEL FEUERRIEGEL

Well, if you love watching Starz' epic saga SPARTACUS I bet you love Daniel as much as we

do. He got much more space and time on screen in the second season SPARTACUS VENGEANCE in which his character, the brave gladiator Agron, has become Spartacus' man of trust and his right hand in the slave rebellion. He also won the love of the crowd and the fans with his tender and sweet love with another slave Nasir and they make the first, or at least the sweetest, gay couple among the gladiators to appear in an epic TV show. Daniel is from Down Under and he starred in famous Australian shows HOME AND AWAY and MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS before the SPARTACUS gig.

Another boy from HBO's epic show GAME OF THRONES, Alfie Allen, plays Theon Greyjoy who has the impossible choice of being

faithful either to the Starks, who raised him, or to the Greyjoys, who are his birth family. Although young, Alfie has played in a huge number of historical projects before this show: we've seen him in ELIZABETH next to Cate Blanchett, in THE OTHER BOLEYN DAUGHTER, in ATONEMENT ... He was the first actor in GAME OF THRONES to show his willy openly :) His father, Keith Allen is also a famous British actor and his sister Lily Allen is a popular British singer who even dedicated a song to him on her debut album.

GETHIN ANTHONY

Yet, another talented and deeply charismatic boy from GAME OF THRONES. He was quite in the spotlight in the second season

  of the famous epic show since his character Renly Baratheon has a claim on the Iron Throne and is leading his army towards the King's Landing. Renly was also famous for his passionate gay relationship with the brother of his wife. He is one of the more educated of the British actors since he studied English language and literature at Oxford and then studied at London Academy of Music and Dramatic art. He has a tenor singing voice.

COLIN MORGAN

Probably the nicest face to appear on British television in recent years, adorable Colin Morgan has won worldwide fame starring as the legendary wizard MERLIN in BBC's megapopular show. Colin plays the role with such natural ease and warm charm that many believe that the show's success is mostly due to his own talent and appearance. This amazing chap is a vegetarian in his private life, he graduated at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he was born in Northern Ireland, and, similarly to Kit Harrington and Gethin Anthony, there are rumours that he is gay in his private life.

CRAIG PARKER

 Kiwi star Craig Parker is interesting because it seems he's always getting royal or godly roles, constantly portraying charismatic and authoritative characters. After playing demi-gods in XENA and "Young Hercules"

he kept on playing immortal or magical figures. Peter Jackson has given him the role of the brave elven army leader Haldir from Galadriel's kingdom of LotLorien who dies in the arms of Aragorn in the battle against Uruk-hais in LORD OF THE RINGS saga. But after playing the good guy with a blond wig, he decided to become naughty and dark-haired, so he played Darken Rahl, the main villain in LEGEND OF THE SEEKER. Later on he became popular playing charming and strict Roman general Glaber in epic show SPARTACUS. You've also seen him in "Underworld" as Sabas.

Just a few days ago I told you that Jessica Biel will play Viper next to Hugh Jackman in WOLVERINE, but now that deal is off and the

 producer have hired Russian beauty and a Playboy star Svetlana Khodchenkova for the part. She has a number of Russian blockbusters behind her and the role of Irina in last year's TINKER, TAYLOR, SOLDIER, SPY. She should fit great in the role since, according to "MovieWeb", The Viper hails from an unknown Eastern European country. The character has a sorted history with the title character throughout the Marvel comics, a friendly ally at times, and a conniving enemy in other story lines. The story of the film, to be directed by James Mangold, will see WOLVERINE going to Japan to search for more clues about his true identity.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES

 Another actor to join sf epic NOAH, which will bring a dark version of the famous apocalyptical story, is Kevin Durand who will join Russell Crowe as Noah,

Douglas Booth and Logan Lerman as his sons, Jennifer Connelly as his wife, Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah. Kevin Durand will play a watcher, a massive giant who helps Noah and his family according to "Variety". Meanwhile, rising star Chris Hemsworth, whom you've seen in THOR, THE AVENGERS and in SNOWWHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, has been offered the lead role in Steven Spielberg's ROBOPOCALYPSE. According to "Deadline" the story, based on a novel by Daniel H. Wilson, is set in the near future where a computer scientist programs an intelligence computer called Archos. The computer, which was designed to preserve life, becomes self aware and starts systematically destroying the human race after realizing we are the planets biggest threat. The story follows a group of survivor's who struggle to stay alive in the aftermath.

OK, people, methinks we shall have a casting news day today at HOLLYWOOD SPY: according to "Digital Spy" one of the breakthrough faces of the year, stunningly gorgeous Lynn Carter, who played exotic warrior princess Dejah Thoris in sf epic JOHN CARTER earlier this year, could be one of the candidates for the lead role in a possible project on WONDER WOMAN according to gossips which have been circling around Hollywood for a while now. The actress is not against the idea. Director Nicolas Winding Refn is also very passionate about the project which he would like to direct, but he sees MAD MEN's Christina Hendricks in the costume of the most famous female superhero.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES

Meanwhile, Kevin Kline has rounded up the senior cast of LAST VEGAS, joining Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas and Morgan Freeman in the story which revolves around an aging womanizer (Michael Douglas), who is the last of his friends to finally settle down and get married. Kevin Kline, Robert De Niro, and Morgan Freeman play his old buddies who reunite in Las Vegas for the wedding. The problem is that some of them will also fall for the bride. Robin Williams has joined THE BUTLER, as Dwight Eisenhower. The film will see Forest Whitaker playing the butler who served a number of US presidents in the White House, next to John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Liam Neeson as Lyndon B. Johnson, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, Oprah Winfrey as the butler's wife, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy. Williams will also star in THE ANGRIEST MAN IN BROOKLYN 

as a man who is wrongly told he only has 90 minutes left to live. He uses the time he has left to connect with his friends and family, while the young doctor (Mila Kunis) tries to track the patient down and tell him he was misdiagnosed.

AMY ADAMS

Another gorgeous lass, but a red headed one, Amy Adams, has meanwhile joined a film with a rather original title - AMERICAN BULLSHIT. Well, I guess those two words go nicely together. According to "MovieWeb" the project is based on the true story of a con man (Bradley Cooper) who helped the FBI unravel an enormous conspiracy spanning from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. The actress will play Maxine Gardner, the con man's mistress who helps the FBI agent (Jeremy Renner) tackle the case. As you know Amy will be seen next year as Lois Lane in MAN OF STEEL.
