EXCLUSIVE NEW "AGORA" POSTERS

JUSTIN THEROUX JOINS "YOUR HIGHNESS"

Medieval comedy "Your Highness" is really filling up its starlicious cast. The latest addition is charismatic Justin Theroux who will play the villain.
The film follows a lazy prince (Danny McBride) who must save his father's kingdom with the help of his much more heroic brother (James Franco). Natalie Portman appears as a warrior princess who will seduce McBride, while Zooey Deschanel plays Belladonna, Franco's virgin bride who get's kidnaped by Justin's character Leezar - an evil wizard with a magical staff.
The story is quite similar to the famous "Princess Bride" which wasn't very successful back in the 90's when it was made but it became a kind of a cult later on.
This might end up being a cute film after all.

"THE ARCANUM", "THE LAST PHARAOH" & "CAPTAIN NEMO" FROM THE PEN OF RANDALL WALLACE

It seems that Oscar winner, Randall Wallace ("Braveheart") has a whole slate of extremely interesting projects. They are so big and so cool that he might experience a Golden age of his career in the upcoming years.
He is supposed to direct "The Arcanum" which is set in 1919. and follows a secret society comprising the era's leading occult investigators - Arthur Conan Doyle, Houdini, Lovecraft, Marie Laveau - as they battle demons and a serial killer of angels.
He will also write a script for McG's water adventure "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo". And there is also a gossip that Will Smith has brought him the story about ancient Egyptian ruler Taharqa and wants him to write a script for the film called "The Last Pharaoh" in which he would play the king who battles with Assyrians.
Beside writing scripts for "Braveheart" and "Pearl Harbor", Wallace has also directed "The Man in the Iron Mask".

ROMAN EPIC "THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH" STARTS FILMING

The future Roman epic "The Eagle of the Ninth" has officially begun filming today in Hungary. Directed by Kevin MacDonald and starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland it describes the strange disappearance of the glorious 9th legion in the mountains of Scotland. Young centurion (Tatum) is sent from Rome to inspect the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. With the help of his British slave (Bell) he crosses the Hadrian's Wall and goes into the dark highlands of Caledonia to confront it's savage tribes and retrieve the golden eagle of the Ninth, the lost emblem of the missing legion.

"OUTLAND" GETS A NEW REMAKE

According to "Variety" Michael Davis will direct a remake of cult sf film "Outland" from 1981. Back then it was a Sean Connery film about a police marshal stationed at a remote mining colony on Jupiter's moon Io, where he comes upon a conspiracy which could destroy the whole Outland. It is something like a legendary western "High Noon" in space in which one man stands against a whole bunch of ruthless conspirators from the highest levels of society.
Sounds interesting to me, but it needs a very strong actor in the lead role.

KARL URBAN AS AN EVIL VAMPIRE IN "PRIEST"

The latest news from "MovieWeb" say that my absolute favourite Karl Urban has just signed a deal to play the villain in the post apocalyptic horror action movie "Priest".
We had already mentioned few weeks ago that "Priest" brings a story set in a world ravaged by the fight between people and vampires. Paul Bettany will play a warrior fighting for church who will get help from a sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a warrior priestess (Maggie Q) in his mission to find a dangerous vampire gang which kidnapped his niece.
Karl Urban will play Black Hat, the evil vampire leader and an ex priest himself who now acts as a bloodsucking god :)
The shooting begins next week.

"THE WOLFMAN" TRAILER IS OUT

"The Wolfman" trailer has been released yesterday as well, and you can watch it over at my YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DAGONIGHT
It looks quite amazing, the sets, costumes, visuals, CGI are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is really there. The only thing I don't like is Benicio Del Toro in the main role. I don't see him in the main role, in any main role. He just doesn't have the charm and the charisma. But the movie still looks amazing and I'll be sure to check it out next February. Enthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt look very dramatic in the movie.

"AVATAR" TRAILER IS FINALLY HERE!!!

It's here, it's here, it's finally here :)
The exclusive trailer for the most anticipated movie of the year has been released today. You can see the exclusive teaser for James Cameron's "Avatar" over at my YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DAGONIGHT
I don't know what to say exactly. Although I'm totally sure I will like the movie when it comes out in December, I didn't enjoy the trailer that much. Although the scenes, sets and the visuals are stunning and amazing, I've found the dynamics of the trailer rather boring and if I wasn't a fan already it wouldn't create a hype in me.
But, still I can't wait to see the film. I'm sure it will be an unforgettable cinematic pleasure :)

ROBERT LUKETIC DIRECTING BARBARELLA

Since Universal has broken off their deal with Robert Rodriguez who wanted to put his lover Rose McGowan in his remake of "Barbarella", famous producer Dino de Laurentis has found a new director - Robert Luketic (Legally Blond).
But apparently, the reboot will not be campy. Barbarella, the female mercenary from a distant future who performs fearless missions, will still be sexy and seductive, but the film will center on her adventures.
Joe Gazzam is currently penning the script and the production should start after that.

EXCLUSIVE TRAILER FOR "WHEN IN ROME"

You can see the fresh new trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy "When in Rome" with Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Danny DeVito and Anjelica Huston over at my YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DAGONIGHT
It's a really cute movie with hilarious moments about a girl who, while attending a wedding in Rome, picks up a few coins from a love fountain not knowing that by doing that she'll ignite the passion of a very weird group of suitors. Very magical. Comes out in January.

BRYAN SINGER DIRECTING "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" MOVIE?

According to HitFix.com Universal Pictures is about to sign a deal with mega successful director Bryan Singer to produce and possibly direct the movie version of "Battlestar Galactica" .
Apparently there is no screenplay yet since they want to sign him first and then start a search for a writer.
According to some stories, Singer was developing a TV series based on the original sf show back in 2001, but it wasn't realized because of the 9/11.

SALMA HAYEK AS THE BEARDED WOMAN

Here's an image to remember - Salma Hayek as the bearded woman in "VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT" in which she plays Madame Truska, a woman whose whiskers grow whenever she gets passionate with her lover :) The director said he chose Salma for the role because she seems to be the only Hollywood actress comfortable enough with herself to put a beard on her pretty face.

ULTRASENSATIONAL NEW TRAILER FOR "LEGION"

OMG OMG you won't believe this! The ultra exclusive trailer for the upcoming horror fantasy "Legion" is out: it's cheesy and spectacular in the same time, you'll laugh and scream in the same time, but it looks sooo glorious you just have to see it yourself. Check it out over at my YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DAGONIGHT
Although it looks like a B-horror movie in some moments, in others it looks like a breathtaking sensational blockbuster. And there are some really memorable scenes in the trailer that could be called legendary already :) I'm surprised and amazed :)
And Paul looks sensational in the film.

SPIELBERG DOING THE "HALO" ADAPTATION

It seems that Steven Spielberg will get his hands on super popular game "Halo's" movie adaptation instead of Peter Jackson. Spielberg is apparently amazed with the script written by Stuart Beattie (who has worked on "Australia", "GI Joe" and "Pirates of the Caribbean").
It is all a story of a navy captain and his marines who crash on an artificial ring-world called Halo. Here they must find out what the Covenant, the genocidal alien race they are at war with, are doing on the ring. But off course, Halo doesn't hide just their enemies, there are many other spectacular secrets to be discovered there.

TRAILER FOR MERYL STREEP'S COMEDY "IT'S COMPLICATED"

You can check out the fresh new trailer for the upcoming comedy "It's Complicated" over at my YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DAGONIGHT
It's a film with an amazing cast in which Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin play a divorced couple who end up having an affair together while cheating on people who got them divorced in the first place :) Meryl and Alec match so perfectly together in this movie that I just couldn't stop laughing while watching the trailer.

CAMERON DOING "BATTLE ANGEL ALITA"?

It seems that after many years of preparations and gossips "Battle Angel Alita" could be James Cameron's next blockbuster project. There is a huge possibility that he will do the adaptation of the manga classic about the cyborg which suffers from amnesia when they find her head and torso and rebuild her after which she tries to discover who she was in the previous life.
Recently at the ComicCon, Cameron said: "Battle Angel's definitely something that I still love, and that's something we are looking at very seriously."

JEREMY RENNER IS THE NEW MAD MAX???

It seems that movie producers want us to see the apocalypse again: young actor Jeremy Renner ("28 Weeks Later", "The Hurt Locker") has revealed that he is trying to win over the leading role in the remake of Mel Gibson's "Mad Max" which will be produced by George Miller. It is supposed to start with the shooting next summer.
If they make it big, I'm up for this, if not, then it'll be just another sf flop.

PAUL BETTANY VS CHURCH AGAIN IN "PRIEST"

Paul Bettany is dealing with religion again :)) Here's the first poster for his adventure/horror film "Priest", a story about a cleric who turns his back to church in order to go hunting for vampires who kidnapped his niece.
The film is out next summer, and stars charming Cam Gigandet as well.

FIRST OFFICIAL POSTER FOR CAMERON'S "AVATAR"

20th Century Fox has finally revealed the official poster for James Cameron's "Avatar". It's nice, but we've already seen this pic on the promotional boards at the ComicCon. This is Zoe Saldana's face as she plays Navi.
With almost no marketing, just four months before the release, it seems they are counting on the fame and glory of Cameron's "Titanic" to attract the audience.
Apparently, the trailer will be released at the end of August.
