Channel 5 has announced cast for new four part mystery series THE FAMILY SECRET that asks: what if your past isn’t what you think it is? Eleanor Tomlinson stars as Amanda Blakefield, whose life is a happy one with her husband, Jimmy (Matthew Lewis), and their son Luke. Amanda has her world shattered after she is left an enormous inheritance by a man she has neither met nor heard of before. Her life starts to disintegrate as she becomes embroiled in the world of The Worrall Family. The patriarch Martin Worrall (Denis Lawson), is head of a family which is bound in past secrets. As Amanda’s story leads her further and further into the Northumbrian countryside, she begins to unravel the past. And all of their lives are turned upside down. Rebecca Front stars as Martin’s wife Fiona, with Callum Woodhouse as his son Anthony, Stephen Tompkinson as farm worker Boots Maddison, Paula Wilcox as Amanda’s mother Linda, Danielle Walters as Amanda’s best friend Sandy, and Nina Wadia as solicitor Laura.

Continuing our spotlight on new series from international markets, after Sweden and Baltics we are back to Sweden again with first image from THE CASE five part series which will stream next year on Netflix. Our dear Jakob Oftebro plays clean-cut lead investigator Thomas Berg who hunts a serial killer targeting his fellow police officers. In a desperate move, Thomas turns to his estranged father, Alfred (Peter Andersson), a once-respected but now out-of-favor ex-detective. They must put aside their difficult history to have any chance of catching one of Sweden’s most notorious killers.

Beside the Baltic national broadcasters ERR, LTV and LRT, where it already aired last spring, if I got it correctly the series will air on ZDF in Germany as well. ROMANTIC COMEDY SERIES GETS A TRAILER

BBC has released a trailer for their new six episode romantic comedy series FILM CLUB that stars Aimee Lou Wood and Nabhaan Rizwan as Tom and Evie who watch a film together in her garage every week. Starting October 7th on BBC Three, the series also stars Suranne Jones and Owen Cooper.

 WHAT IS THE STORY?

  Evie lovingly decorates the space to match the film of the week - from a yellow brick road for The Wizard of Oz to a space craft for Alien. It's magical. They’re there for the love of themovies. Or at least, that’s what they tell themselves. In reality, Tom is madly in love with Evie. What he doesn’t know is that Evie is in love with him too. But when Tom accepts a job at the other end of the country, their happily ever after comes under threat. He's leaving in six weeks. That means Evie has six film clubs left to tell Tom how she feels, or risk losing him forever. Check out the trailer below:

in which the world was rocked by a comet saw our heroes hide in a bunker and then come out of it after nine months as the survivors of the apocalypse, in the sequel the survived Garrity family emerges outside after five years and must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated wasteland of Europe to find a new home. While the first film was made for around 35 million, the sequel had a budget of almost 90 million. The production team has said that they have ideas for a third part as well.

After the stunning trailer and posters that Staz released back in July for their SPARTACUS spin off series HOUSE OF ASHUR the channel has now sent us magnificent new character images filled with armours, swords and steamy hot pecs and abs to celebrate the announcement that the new epic saga will hit the small screens December 5th with a two episode premiere, so we have something to hope for towards the end of the year. The series will have ten episodes and will also stream on popular streamer Stan down for the viewers who will want to watch it in Australia.

Netflix is planning to turn Harry Allard's popular children's book MISS NELSON IS MISSING into a TV series with Melissa McCarthy tapped as the double lead. The classic book series follows a misbehaving class whose teacher is mysteriously absent from school one day. But after a week with their strict substitute, Viola Swamp, the kids can’t wait for Miss Nelson to come back. According to Deadline, McCarthy will play both Nelson and Swamp in the film.

Lazarus arrives to Prime Video October 22nd

Prime Video has unveiled first trailer for their TV series adaptation of Harlan Coben's LAZARUS  in which the story will revolve around a man who returns home after his father's suicide and begins to have disturbing experiences that can't be explained. He quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father's death and his sister's murder 25 years ago. Our dearest Sam Claflin will lead as Laz, a well-respected forensic psychologist who has spent his whole life running from the pain of his past. It is only now when he returns home that he is forced to finally face up to it.
