OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR
LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE SERIES
The series drops November 3rd
HBO has released an official trailer for their six episode series adaptation of Laura Esquivel's LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE which hits Max November 3rd. Set during the Mexican Revolution in the early 20th century, it follows Tita de la Garza (Azul Guaita) and Pedro Múzquiz (Andrés Baida), two souls deeply in love, yet unable to be together due to entrenched family customs. The protagonists navigate a world of magical realism and rich flavors as Tita struggles between the destiny imposed on her by her family and her fight for love. Along the way, the audience will witness her greatest refuge: the kitchen. For Tita, her magical connection to cooking becomes an active resistance against oppression, allowing her to channel her deepest desires and passions into her recipes, transforming those who taste them. It took six years forSalma Hayek to produce the new series. Check out the long trailer below and tell us will you be tuning in this November when it starts its weekly airing? Or do you think like us that the leading pair seems terribly miscast and super bland?

I'll be watching it because I love the story, but all the cast is inferior to the ones in the original film
ReplyDeleteThe casting is beyond terrible, how on Earth did this talentless girl get the lead role? Such annoying fakeness about her just in the trailer itself.
DeleteIt's the mother's role that gave me the creeps. She is supposed to be this evil queen sort of a witch , and this actress looks like a marionette.
DeleteThey all look fake and wooden, terrible casting.
DeleteI've read the novel and I'd love to watch this series.
ReplyDeleteCatch it in November on Max!
DeleteOh, the trailer did not draw me in at all. I wanted to give this one a chance, but it was just so odd to me for some reason. Not my cuppa.
ReplyDeleteI was massively annoyed but the idiotic mouth movements and fakeness of the lead actress.
