DANIEL EDELSON'S NOVEL
THE TEA HOUSE ON THE DEATH PASS TO BE TURNED INTO A TV SERIES
News from Deadline say that ZDF and Paramount are going to turn Daniel Edelson's debut novel THE TEA HOUSE ON THE DEATH PASS into a returning series based on the true story of hundreds of hikers who became trapped while trekking in the Himalayas. Back in October 2014 in Nepal’s Himalayan Mountains, hundreds of hikers become trapped on the Annapurna Range after snowstorms and avalanches turn one of the most breathtaking hiking trails in the world into a death trap. The hikers, from dozens of nations, find themselves fighting for their lives, totally dependent on each other. They must make life-and-death decisions and face moral dilemmas as moments of heroism give rise to the inspiring rescue efforts. Ron Leshem along with Amit Cohen are the show creators.
Wonder who would join the show....if on ZDF, then we might have a chance to watch it too. We are watching The Best of Enemies led by Sam Rockwell...who I remember from The Green Mile so well.
ReplyDeleteI imagine they will not have big names, but it all depends on the funding they manage to gather.
DeleteThe storyline sounds exciting.
ReplyDeleteI do love thrillers at isolated places.
DeleteSnowy based thrillers usually aren't my jam, but his one interests me. Probably more for the human nature aspect. Allison and I just watched the remake of Alive. We pondered whether we could eat our fellow travelers if we were in a plane crash. I'd have to let myself starve to death if I survived. I am not built with those kinds of survival instincts.
ReplyDeleteI had that in a recent book that I translated, I think it was Glenn Cooper. Two millionaries had to munch on their dead friends up in the Chilean mountains. I don't think I value my life that much to eat people.
DeleteAllison and I had to do a search on what human flesh tasted like and nope, nope, nope. It's said that it tastes like burnt hair. Some people have that survival instinct to look past the nasty and do what it takes, like drinking your own urine if stranded in the ocean, but I'd try to find a way to kill myself faster if I had to do any of that to save my own life.
DeleteWhat a fun mother daughter activity that was LOL
