  LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY
NEW APPLE TV PLUS SERIES
Lessons start this October at Apple
Beside the second season of Julia series which will see the outstanding Sarah Lanchashire reprise the role of famous TV cook Julia Child from November 16th over at HBO, there is another period set series on a pioneer (albeit a fictional one) of television cooking shows arriving to us this Autumn. Apple TV Plus streamer is launching the new season with a brand new eight episode mini TV series LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY which, set in the early 1960s, follows Elizabeth Zott whose dream of being a chemist is put on hold when she finds

herself pregnant, alone, and fired from her lab. But after she gets hired to host a cooking show she tries to make the most out of this new platform. You can check out the first trailer for the new show below the post.

LIFE RARELY FOLLOWS A FORMULA
In the 1950s, a woman's dream of being a scientist is challenged by a society that says women belong only in the domestic sphere. She accepts a job on a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives way more than recipes.

WHO ELSE IS AT THE LESSONS?
The new series, based on the international best-selling fictional novel from author and science editor Bonnie Garmus, will see the first two episodes premiere on Friday, October 13th, with new episodes arriving weekly through Nov. 24. The series led by Brie Larson also stars gorgeous Lewis Pullman as her husband alongside, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker, and Thomas Mann. This is Brie Larson's first major TV role in almost 15 years. After an unsuccessful role in Captain Marvel, this is her attempt to revive her career after a series of episodic roles in smaller shows and lending her voice in animated movies. Check out the series trailer below and tell us what you think, will you be tuning in this October?

    1. I'd probably go for MGM Plus first before taking Apple.

  2. The story sounds quite interesting, but the trailer ain't that exciting.

    1. Yes, it leaves a feeling it was done solely for the feminist agenda not for the story itself. Given how implausibly feminist she behaves in it for that age and era it is no wonder the story is fictional.

  3. I actually liked the trailer. Cooking really is just chemistry when you get down to it. I don't have Apple TV still, but I imagine if it goes more than a few seasons, I'll eventually get around to tuning in.

    1. I will probably give it a go just for Lewis Pullman, I like how he is wearing those cute little white numbers...

    2. Yes, he is very cute in those. You'll have to let me know if it's worth watching since I am sure it will be some time now before I get to it. It seems our cable company is now cracking down on people who torrent. I've seen an uptick on people complaining about the cease and desist letters they are getting after they do so. IDK if they are using a VPN or not like we do, but I'm a little leery of doing it myself right now.

    3. They have the legal right to track what you visit and do??? What kind of police state is that? And torrenting is technically not illegal because the technology is made in a way that you share what you have in your room as you would do with your guest in a real living room. At least for shows, it is different with movies, though.

    4. If we're using their service to stream something we aren't paying for, they do have the right to track that. It's the police state of money here, dahlink.
