already been shot, the documentary part will feature Serbia's most prominent historians and archaeologists, alongside professors from the world's most famous universities, such as Harvard, Oxford, Sorbonne, Lomonosov, Heidelberg! Serbian Museum of History has, meanwhile, provided ideal reconstructions of Serbian medieval crowns, which significantly contributed to the authentic appearance of the characters. For the first time ever on film, the audience will be able to see the legendary coronation of tzar Dushan which was later on a theme of many magnificent paintings. Petar Strugar leads the cast in the live action part as Stefan Nemanya, the founder of the dynasty and its first great zhupan. Viasat History has expressed interest for this series so there is a huge possibility they will air it for the global audiences.

  1. I'm not really very familiar with Serbian history but this looks as though it could be absorbing. Sometimes it's nice to see something new (to me at least) - I mean I know English history at the time of the Tudors and Stuarts is interesting but there have been so many shows about those periods that it's sometimes nice to have the changes rung.

    1. Serbian history starts somewhere in the 6th or 7th century when they came down to the Balkans up from North. They had three dynasties = the Visheslavichs, the Vukanovichs and then the most famous one the Nemanyichs which turned Serbia into a kingdom in the 11th century which was later on turned into Europe's biggest empire under the rule of tzar Dushan who, after being attacked by Bulgarians and Byzantium following the death of his father despot Stefan Dechanski, destroyed both of those enemies and went to conquer them as a punishment. He then ruled the whole Balkans. The fall came when the Turks came to the Balkans and in the 16th century they conquered us fully and we were their slaves for following 500 years, after which the Kingdom of Serbia was established as a result of our war for independence from the Ottomans. That is Serbian history in short :)

  2. The first picture looks like they are wearing Allison's high school colors. Yellow and purple was what they wore to graduate. She was not pleased with the cap and gown and never did let me take graduation pictures. Maybe if I would have given her one of those fancy crowns it would have went over better LOL
