TEASER AND AIR DATE FOR NETFLIX EPIC MINI SERIES THE EMPRESS ON AUSTRIAN KAISERIN SISI REVEALED!

 NETFLIX' THE EMPRESS SERIES
TEASER AND STREAM DATE
Some of Netflix European channels have released the first teaser for streamer's new six part series THE EMPRESS on famous Austrian empress Sisi, which is one of their new German originals, announcing the streaming date which is September 29th. The series will depict Sisi’s life from her teenage years onwards, when she first met Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria Hungary, and Devrim Lingnau and Philip Froissant will play the imperial couple. When the rebellious Elisabeth meets Franz, the Emperor of Austria, in 1853 the young couple's intoxicating love completely upsets the power structure at the Viennese court. After the wedding, the young empress must assert herself not only against her mother in law, the sovereign, power hungry Sophie, but also against Franz's brother Maxi, who himself longs for the throne (and for Sisi). As enemy troops form up on the borders of the Habsburg Empire, people in Vienna rise up in protest against the emperor. Elisabeth must find out who she can trust and how high the price is to be a true empress and a figure of hope for the people. Melika Foroutan, Johannes Nussbaum, Almila Bagriacik and Wiebke Puls also star. This series is not to be confused with a much more glamorous Sisi saga that aired last December on German RTL and Epic Drama Channels in Europe and that is coming back with a second season this December. Check out the trailer below and tell us are you royally excited?

  1. I’m royally excited because they continue promoting the Disney Princess myth that delighted my childhood. Sisi was never in love with her husband, he was, but who cares? Long live romance! I wonder if this Netflix version will be as sexed up as the Austrian. Maximilian as the villain? That I have to see.

    1. Yes, not only that there wasn't much romance in their marriage but they were also both rather disgusting people not cute and hot as hell like in RTL's show LOL I have a feeling that Sisi spoilt us with glitz and glamour and flawless visuals and costumes, so this one will probably look subpar, but we shall wait and see. Sisi did have its stupid moments, like her bringing that hoe to court, like what was she thinking?

    2. Yeah, this is supposed to be a girl brought up in rural Bavaria who not only doesn't get lost in Vienna, but befriends prostitutes? Also, Sisi was not in love with the populace, she was not Princess Di. She had soft spot for Hungarian rebels but those of the nobility.

  2. You know that I love Sisi, don't you? LOL...NO.
We just watched A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...not the best from Tom Hanks though.

    1. Sadly you will be hearing more of Sisi as RTL's has the second season coming in December right after Netflix' Empress in September :)
For some reason I cannot for the life of me stand Tom Hanks.

  3. I meant she was a newcomer. Never been to Vienna and yet she wanders around the worst neighborhood and never gets lost!

  4. I wish we would go back to dressing like this. That hat is rather sexy on her. Fishnets for the face, I guess you could call it LOL

    1. In that series that I sent you, Sisi cannot bread and faints after the first day of accepting new subjects and greeting them in a tight corsetted dress.
