ANCIENT ROME SET DOMINA EPIC TV SERIES 2ND SEASON TO SHOOT THIS SPRING! VISIT ISTANBUL IN NEW NETFLIX HISTORICAL ADVENTURE SERIES MIDNIGHT AT THE PERA PALACE
DOMINA SEASON TWO
STARTS SHOOTING THIS SPRING
Second season will shoot this spring
Earlier this winter I informed you that Epix has greenlit the second season of their DOMINA epic TV series and now we have a confirmation that it will start shooting this spring in Rome and will, beside Epix, also again air on Sky in Europe next year. The series that sees Kasia Smutniak playing Livia Drusilla, Caesar's (Matthew McNulty) wife, chronicles the struggle for control of the Roman Empire, and of Rome’s Imperial Family from a rare female perspective. In its first season, Livia Drusilla, the golden girl of the prominent Claudii family returned to Rome after ten years in exile, determined to regain everything that was stolen
The first season had great ratings both for Epix and Sky
from her. Now, atop a fractious empire, and a dysfunctional dynasty, she must fight to preserve her marriage to Gaius and find a way to seat one of her sons
Kasia Smutniak will again lead the series as Livia Drusilla
on the throne as new and old rivals jockey for position in a world where it’s impossible to know who to trust. The first season was the most watched in 2021 among the new shows at Epix. Hopefully we will have new casting addition announcements soon.

I kept forgetting to inform you about this one and now it is already streaming over at Netflix. MIDNIGHT AT THE PERA PALACE is a new eight episode historical comedy adventure series based on a Charles King

the key to Esra returning to the present but is also the key to ensuring the election of Turkey’s first president, Mustafa Kemal, comes to pass.
How will Esra keep the past the same to prevent the future from changing?
Are there are any tales of supportive royals that weren't constantly battling for the thrones? That being said, I love the costumes. There's something so pretty about her toga like dress and long, thick, dark hair.
It seems that bitch Uknown spammer is back, had to erase ten of his comments. Luckily, my posts are closed for commenting after last ten posts, so he did not make much of a mess among the older ones. And it happened as soon as I visited those two ladies who commented yesterday. So the lesson is: never return comments to people who look like they are coming from Asia, India especially, those are the spam incubators, methinks.
Good that you describe Pera Palace as a comedy, because it’s a combination of drama and comedy where the latter erases the first. It is its major flaw. Charles King never wrote a novel. His Midnight at the Pera Palace has nothing to do with the series (the title refer to the night in 1925 when Turkey adopted the Western calendar.) King's book is a history of Istanbul and the Pera Palace that devotes only four pages to Kemal Ataturk's 1919 visit to the hotel. Aside from Kemal Pasha (as he was known then) and Agatha Christie there are no other real characters in the series, and it’s non-historical because Esra’s shenanigans disrupt history as we know it.
I need to watch Domina. I tend to gravitate towards anything having to do with Rome. Their fashion is one that was always a favorite of mine, too. Simple, but sexy.

ReplyDeleteShe is very pretty and also very charismatic in a sensual but cold way, she was quite great as Drusilla.

ReplyDeleteI added that comedy bit because you told me so LOL
DeleteYes, because it has been sold as a historical drama or serious science fiction like "Dark"which I hated by the way.
DeleteI don't think it has been sold very well, probably no one is watching it, LOL, there was next to none marketing for it.
DeleteMIDNIGHT AT THE PERA PALACE sounds something perfect for the coming summer...light-hearted and fun!
ReplyDeleteSummer watch it is!
DeleteCan't wait for Domina!
ReplyDeleteWe will have to wait till next year, sadly.

ReplyDeleteIt was a nice show, nothing overly special, but I am glad it is coming back. Kasia is very pretty.
DeleteSuper pretty! Could have also been a runner for starring as Wonder Woman if there was no Gal to take that role.
DeleteYes, she could, although Gal does have the warmth that Kasia does not.
