SANDITON PERIOD SET SERIES IS BACK FROM THE DEAD WITH SEASONS TWO AND THREE ORDERED! JACK DAVENPORT, JIM BROADBENT TO LEAD UK REMAKE OF CALL MY AGENT TV SERIES

 SANDITON SAVED FROM DEATH
GETS TWO MORE SEASONS
Well, we thought this one was dead, and rightfully so with its horrid writing, horrid acting and no chemistry between the leads, not to mention the bad marks from the critics and even worse viewing numbers (nobody wanted
Sanditon will sadly have the same bad writer again
to watch that dreary mess in Britain), but ITV's SANDITON has just got a second and third seasons ordered and they will air on ITV and BritBox in UK and on PBS Masterpiece in USA (to make it even more complicated, BBC is distributing it around the world). Based on Jane Austen's novel, the drama will continue to follow the high spirited and annoyingly ungrateful heroine, Charlotte Heywood (acutely one dimensional Rose Williams) as she returns to the picturesque coastal resort of Sanditon. Charlotte’s journey is one thread of an intricate tapestry of
Sanditon was a massive flop in UK, but it apparently went well in USA
stories full of intrigue, excitement, and romance. Against the backdrop of beautiful vistas, familiar faces return and new inhabitants are introduced – all of whom will be having adventures as joyous and surprising as the seaside
Theo James has announced that he won't be returning!
town itself. Theo James is not returning as he said he thinks the story of his character ended the way it should, and bravo to him, and Leo Suter might not return either as the production will start later this year and he is working on Vikings Valhala.

  CALL MY AGENT UK VERSION
CASTS JIM BROADBENT, JACK DAVENPORT AND LYDIA LEONARD
Speaking of Brits, they are about to start shooting an eight part English remake of French series CALL MY AGENT which will, as Deadline reports, retain the essence of the French series where a Parisian talent agency’s employees must scramble to keep their star clients happy and their business
Jim Broadbent and Jack Davenport will lead the cast
afloat after the sudden death of their founder. However, the remake will incorporate British sensibility and introduce some new storylines. Jack Davenport, Lydia Leonard, Jim Broadbent Maggie Steed, have been announced as the leads, but apparently a host of A-list Brit and U.S. guest stars have been lined up across the series, probably playing the celebrity clients. Christian Baute is executive producing.

  1. I couldn't even finish watching one episode of Call My Agent...so I wouldn't give much hope on English version.

    1. I haven't watched, but they say the UK version will be very much about Britishness, so it should be fun as it will be funny unlike the original.

  2. Watched Jack Davenport in quite a few TV shows, actually. He's a total TV star. 🙂

  6. Figures a series that doesn't have much good going for it gets renewed, yet sometimes the series with loyal fans get discontinued..

    1. This one went well in USA, I figure because you do not get as much period set pieces as we do, so it was a novelty for your audience, but, sweet bejesus, it was so horrible!

  7. Like Jax, I’m usually dumbfounded when good shows don’t get renewed (still pissed about Young and Hungry & Baby Daddy) and dreadful series get more seasons.

    1. Baby Daddy we sorely miss especially now when the season was lacking in comedies. LMS is ending in two weeks and after that I don't know what I will watch. I did start Country Comfort, and it is cute and charming, but nothing to write home about. I did download Ten Danson's Mayor series, but I'm not excited about it. Will probably have to spend summer watching the second season of Bob Hearts Abashola :)

    2. Hopefully something worthy will come along to fill the void this fall. I hate it when we have to wait for fun, wholesome shows to come along :(

    3. Yes, I did watch the LeAnn Rimmes episode of Country Comfort this weekend, and it was very cute, it is growing on me, but I bet Netflix won't renew it. But out of all the pilots for sitcoms that we had this spring announced, I don't like any, so I don't look forward to Autumn. I think comedy is dead as dodo.
