     LOCH DOWN ABBEY
TO BECOME A TV SERIES
Meanwhile, the company which made NatGeo's Genius is going to turn LOCH DOWN ABBEY, which Beth Cowan Erskine wrote during the lockdown as her debut novel, into a TV series. It follows the delightfully selfish and out-of-step Inverkillen family. The trouble starts when Lord Inverkillen is

found dead in mysterious circumstances after making a disastrous deal to sell off the family’s only asset, the whiskey distillery. The inspector declares it an accident but Mrs MacBain, the savvy head housekeeper, isn’t so convinced. No one is allowed in or out of the Abbey because of a mysterious illness sweeping the country, so the residents of the house, both upstairs and downstairs, are the only suspects. The desperate state of the family’s finances are revealed to the family; without quick intervention it’s likely the estate will have to be sold to cover the debts, leaving them homeless. Most of the Inverkillens haven’t left the estate in decades and are best at doing what can only be described as nothing. With the servants increasingly out of commission because of the mysterious virus,

  1. THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END sounds really interesting. I guess there's an APP for everything these days.

    1. it is such a huge hit again thanks to Tic Toc. It has already been sold previously for adaptation and nothing happened and now Silvera is trying again.

  2. How long can a tv series run on this book? They are only alive for 24 hours in the book and then they both die. Unless they plan on doing a spin off of other people and their death days after they kill off those two characters, I don't know how far they can push this one. I did like the book, but it left me feeling quite pissed off since I had hoped beyond hope they would somehow skirt their deaths. When it didn't happen, I was sorely disappointed even though the title told you right from the beginning how it ends.

    1. It will probably be a limited series, deary. I've noticed that this book of his is very liked, but the other fantasy saga that he wrote has rather bad marks.

  3. I'm not very into They Both Die at the End. Sounds like it would give me anxiety.. The second one sounds OK but fits the expression "Too soon?".

    2. It was a good book, but I know I felt some anxiety reading it as well. So many hopes going from chapter to chapter that just didn't pan out. It really is worth a read though if you don't mind feeling a little sad at the end.
