IT'S A SIN SERIES TRAILER
FOR CHANNEL 4 NEW SERIES
We don't know when exactly it will air but Channel 4's new 80's set series IT'S A SIN has just got a trailer! Years and Years singer Olly Alexander leads the cast alongside Stephen Fry, Keeley Hawes, Neil Patrick Harris. The five part drama centres on the AIDS crisis in the 1980s following
three friends who move to London as the epidemic unfolds. Heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure, the series (previously known as just Boys) will cover the entire decade, and will follow the protagonists' friendships and love lives as they deal with the AIDS crisis.

PALMER MOVIE TRAILER
WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
Speaking of LGBT, the first trailer for Justin Timberlake's new movie shot for Apple TV PALMER also belongs to that genre. Airing January
29th, it sees Timberlake playing Eddie Palmer, a former college football star, who saw his professional career shattered after he was imprisoned. Twelve years later he returns to his hometown and his grandmother (June Squibb) after spending time in prison only to find trouble hounding him from his past. He then forms an unlikely friendship with a gender non conforming little boy Sam from the neighbourhood who was abandoned by his mother (Juno Temple). While caring for him, Eddie also meets and starts a relationship with Maggie (Alisha Wainwright), Sam's teacher. Check out the trailer below and then tell us what you think:

While these both look good, JT for the win! AIDs and HIV are two things that trigger my anxiety so I try to stay away from anything about it. I think with COVID, I'm just extra sensitive and hyper aware of health these days.
ReplyDeleteI love how Justin kept the gloom on his face throughout the trailer and only let some light in at the end when he realizes he loves the kid and accepts him for what he is. Looks like an Oscar worthy performance. I also love that they did not choose some angelic cuteness for the kid, but some ordinary little geekish looking boy, it makes the story more realistic. And Justin needs some collagen for that deep line above his right eyebrow LOL, collagen solves that for me, I call it the sadness wrinkle.

ReplyDelete80s are my fave decade, as it was the only decade I felt relatively safe, after that I first realized I would have a lonesome childhood somewhere at the age of 6 and then after that the war started, the hunger, the bombings and all the darkness of the 90s. I also love 80s because I grew up with that music and I feel sorry for today's kids who will never experience that innocence, creativity and love that the 80s music had. After that the rest of my life has been just pure non/stop freaking effing darkness LOL
DeleteWhile I'm not a Justin Timberlake fan, it does look like he puts on a good performance. Both of these look good. I also miss the innocence of the 80s. I'm still convinced it was and always will be the best decade of our time.
